Changes vs GWS Giants

We’re a better team with Phillips playing but I don’t know how we fit him in. It would have to be for Stewart but hard to drop after yesterday.
Maybe just Parish(?) & McGrath for Caldwell & D’Amrosio?

Edit doh Caldwell misses

We will win cue in the rack for GWS

Just leave Menzie in for a full game.

A specialist small forward is a gaping hole on the list so give him the opportunity to make it his.

B: McGrath, Zerk-Thatcher, Kelly
HB: Redman, Laverde, Ridley
C: Heppell, Parish, Durham
HF: Stringer, Jones, Langford
F: Stewart, Wright, Guelfi
R: Draper, Merrett, Hobbs
INT: Hind, Perkins, Snelling, Martin
IN: RISH, RATH
OUT: Caldwell (injured), D’Ambrosio (omit), Menzie (sub)

I’d say that’s the most logical 22 to be selected. Tough on Mass and Menzie, both would be in line for the sub role. But McGrath drops into defence and Parish back in.

Hammy awareness? How can you be aware of having titanium hammies ?
or is he just sick of being the no 1 clearance player in the AFL?

I’m wondering what that strong suit might be?

  • consistent HQ posting
  • chipper can-do attitude
  • respectful of old folk like bacchus
  • very popular with the ladies?

whatever

you could work a bit harder to defend yourself…

Out: Caldwell (inj), D’Ambrosio & Snelling
In: Parish, McGrath & Cutler (sub)

B: Ridley BZT McGrath
HB: Redman Laverde Hind
C: Martin Merrett Durham
HF: Guelfi Jones Langford
F: Stringer Wright Menzie
R: Draper Parish Perkins

I/C: Stewart Hobbs Heppell Kelly
Sub: Cutler

Keep Langford forward, give more CBAs to Perkins & Hobbs. I suspect they’ll keep Snelling in but I wouldn’t mind getting a proper look at Menzie.

This has an ambush written all over it.

Spike knew exactly what he was doing with his criticism after the Swans game. They’ve had the players meet for a barbecue yesterday and this will be one game they are going to seriously target.

If Spike wants this job (which he clearly does), they need to win this game.

Their midfield is their strong suit and ours is looking a bit banged up at the moment. This will be a difficult game to win, particularly away.

We’ve opened up the betting week at $1.60 (Vs Giants at $2.30) … this really surprises me.

Honestly, if we lose, does it really matter. Could help us on draft night, who knows.

That’s what I’m thinking as well. If GWS want to come out firing and potentially move ahead of Crows on the ladder and change their draft position, go for it :woman_shrugging:t2:

As long as we’re getting valuable game time into the kids we want to develop, it’s still a win for us.

Good one to lose I think, stay behind Hawks and let Crows jump us, pick 4 would be nice.

Bryan is doing everything asked of him in the VFL, just not a spot for him I feel.

A win on the road will do far far more for this young group than the difference between Pick 5 and Pick 4.

At what point do we send some players in for surgery, and give some of the kids a game??

Give Hird one game before he is delisted. Give Hurley a farewell game.

Might end up being pick 8 or 9 though, we aren’t far off Port, Hawks and Suns.

Spike has just poured a bucket of acid all over them for their lack of effort. I expect that with a few players potentially playing for their careers, they will lift their games accordingly. They will certainly want to go in harder than they did on the weekend.

Will Spike get the gig next season, they aren’t playing for him
