Changes vs Pies Anzac Day

I think we need to stop focusing on the players Collingwood will be missing and looking at the players that will be out there.

There’s a LOT of quality (Daicos, Pendlebury, Elliot, De Goey, Sidebottom etc) out there.

again it’s not as easy as winning on paper, and they did just beat the hardest working side that we lost too a couple of weeks ago.

but we didn’t ahve Zerk & Phillips against the saints.
It was stringers first game back and hes improved a little since then.
Heppell had a shocker and has improved.

But no doubt Collingwood will look a the Ess st kilda game and see what they did to beat us.

We should not be expected to beat Collingwood, they are the premiership favourites and they are in great form regardless of the injuries. It will be a huge upset if we win.

Was it Lloydy who did this or Lordo? It’s hard on the surface to tell the difference but it’s definitely there

Wright and Merrett are huge outs, obviously.

We are only required to replace 1 tall and 1 Mid though.
Collingwood will be forced to select a player or 2 not considered under usual circumstances.

Guelfi is a player easily replaceable, not to downgrade his undoubted improvement last season.

Can’t believe how ahead of themselves supporters are getting after one good win.

The Pies were a kick from the Grand Final last year and have looked the best team in the early parts of the season - dismantling the reigning premiers, smashing Port, comfortably beating Richmond and beating the team on top of the ladder (who we lost to). They have some outs (as do we) which will help us, but they absolutely should be favourites for this game.

watched Kingy and montagna discuss our back 6, and how we have done well 1-1’s, and backing off the guy with the ball and covering the long kick out the back and intercepting.

Think we may see pies having to either slow ball movement and hit up targets to small forwards, or be having shots from 50 on the run. Midfield will need to chase and provide defensive movement to pies ball carrier too.

I just don’t want to see parasites like Elliot, Hill and sidearse taking uncontested marks 20m from goals. We haven’t really faced a dangerous forward line yet but we looked very vulnerable to Stkildas smalls. We have to tighten that up.
