A bit misleading if you see the current VFL players available. Their whole midfield is decimated outside of Perkins with just his 2nd game in a long time - Atley, Dunkley, Clarke, Zaka all out. Reid left 5 mins into first term etc… 40 points was a fair effort with a bunch of guys who barely know each other

well we all thought we would win against hawks and lost, so if we all think were gonna lose to Port who knows.
If we can play more like we did Q2 and less like Q3.
Worrried about Ports small forwards if Fantasia gets up for the match.
I’m not sure there’s heaps of options. If Perkins and Jakey boy are not ready, then maybe Waterman? That’s not game changing. I’m as disappointed as anyone, but if we kicked straight, game over in our favour.
Port will ream us, at least it will show the kids where they need to get to. Can’t wait to see Cox, Perkins, Reid and Jones develop with McGrath and co. That’s our real shot at no 17…3-4 years from now. Sucks, but there’ll be exciting wins to keep us going…

Just the WINNING games part presents with a problem. That said, think we’ll beat the filth, GWS, Freo.
Plus, it’s Round 1. Looong way to go. Up to Truck to turn this mindset around. Do I like his chances? Hmmm, think Hardwick back when he took on that rabble. So no, I don’t like his chances.

You do realise we won games in the year when we lost 34 players. Pretty sure a 1 point loss is not the sign to put the cue in the rack. Taking pessimism to a new level.

Ok, first game as the Coach and you want to sack him…makes sense. Hardwick took years to get the team to play his way…yet Rutten after 1 game is written off

Draft week come early this season? Not just the wrong thread, but the wrong forum as well.
Hard to gauge what they will do this week
Either Zerk in or Hooker back needs to happen vs Dixon.
If it’s the latter which I think is most likely then they may look to bring Stringer in pending him getting through a solid week of training. If not has to be Waterman
Other than that IMO we will be largely unchanged. More will be made of what was done right and players given opportunity to respond to the loss and what they didn’t do right.
