Climate Change in Australia (Part 2)

His hate of Trump inspired him to write a novel last time.

Gamble responsibly.

Nah, it’s DEI hires and giving old surplus fire trucks to Ukraine. Obviously.

Guardian - “ The world’s richest 1% have already used up their fair share of the global carbon budget for 2025, just 10 days into the year.

In less than a week and a half, the consumption habits of an individual from this monied elite had already caused, on average, 2.1 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, according to analysis by Oxfam GB. It would take someone from the poorest 50% of humanity three years to create the same amount of pollution.”

I love the Norwegians…whilst most of the world moans about possible problems with changing from fossil fuel dependency, the Norwegians just get on with it and show how it can be done.

Imagine living in a country where they look for solutions rather than problems.

It’s just a shame that some of their solutions include deep-sea mining (its been blocked for now, but check out what their parliament voted for, itwould be devastating for the Artic) and dumping mining waste in the fjords. I wouldn’t be putting the Norwegians on a pedestal.

Nobody really knows what’s going to happen this year, we are in uncharted waters.

So, by ‘mysteries’ he means not our fault right? Just asking for some long absent posters.

Zeke was pretty outspoken about the effects of the shipping regulations in 2023, but he has been backpedalling lately. He could be referring to feedback loops in general. I mean, the Amazon is under siege, sea ice is disappearing and whilst temps have come down a bit in our oceans, they are still stupidly high etc etc et ■■■■■■■ cetera. Which goes back to what he was saying about the models missing things.

You would bet it would go higher surely.

HD, if it goes up this year then we are absolutely ■■■■■■. It has to go down because if it is around 1.7⁰C when the next El Nino hits, it will be time for me to think about quitting my job to enjoy the handful of good years we have left.

Fun facts: We were 1.6⁰C above pre-industrial for the entire planet but land temps were 2.3⁰C above. Also, the Artic is warming 4x faster than the rest of the globe.

I’m old enough to remember when Bolt spent several years writing weekly columns about how global warming had clearly ceased because there’d never been a year as hot as 1998.
