Stick to the medical crap, you have never understood physics.
And you could add that ice reflects the sunlight whereas the ocean absorbs it. Earthâs albedo is a real concern.
My son has recently increased his solar panels and installed a battery. He has a provider who gives 3 hour free electricity per day so he uses this to charge his battery and heat his house.
His power bill is minimal.
Do you have a ballpark of what he spent?
About 25k but that included changing his ducted heating from gas. Also a heating bank for his hot water.
Nice. Thatâs about a 5-10 year pay back.
In another way of looking at it, that shifts the energy bill to a $1900 per year fixed mortgage cost.
I had an existing 6.6kW system. Recently installed with a 13.5kW battery for less than $15k.
Producing net zero electricity bills (credit).
If you go bigger and set it up properly you can join amber to automatically buy/sell when the grid needs it. I know a few with larger systems who do this. Making money off their system.
This is what I am doing. Solar and battery to be installed in December.
Nice, youâll pay it back in no time
His big saving is on his gas. His ducted heating gas bill was enormous.
I have done the same, but the feed into the grid doesnât cover the connection and service charges.
However, just waiting for a feed into the grid fee. Itâs coming, itâs just a matter of when.
Yeah, I wouldnât bank on being paid for rooftop solar these days. The grid connection these days is more to cover when your home setup runs short.
Will help more when everyone fully electrifies. One less âdaily usageâ fee.
That is when the companies will charge more fees just for being connected.
Just like water companies charge MUCH more for the connection than the actual water you use.
Which is great if you wanna use a fuckload of water
That makes complete sense, the water itself is free. It falls from the sky. Itâs construction and maintenance of all the dams and pipework that involve the vast proportion of cost. The trick is to work out what share of the infrastructure should be paid by each user. I guess the metered water charge should include all costs of ensuring purity and sterility of the water you use and cost of desalination if that is the source of it.
Well there goes having any alternative to the federal ALP as the Coalition have abandoned the Net Zero objective they had.
Fark them.
Yeah, depressing times. The Coalitionâs suicidally moronic embrance of utter trogloditism on the whole emissions issue has really lowered the bar for the ALP, and it was basically lying on the ground already. Theyâll feel smug and comfortable and keep on exporting coal hand over fist while the Libs run around with tinfoil hats on their heads, bumping into walls and making chicken noises.
