Club logo/update? Nino has an idea

4 goal posts and a big red tick for a goal

Of course it is. It’s going to be updated, I’m not against it being refreshed. I do have a problem is there’s a bid to ‘cancel’ the Bombers and the ‘plane’ icon.

I thought the 150th logo used last year was actually quite bland and too conservative for my liking. To me it lacked sharpness and wasn’t overly dynamic.

If the existing logo is refreshed with the continued use of the current elements that define it, then I have no issues.

a positive of changing the logo is getting rid of the pre-game air raid siren

Most nutcases with an opinion on the club don’t get newspaper coverage.

The plane in the logo should be flying up. Current logo is poor feng shui

I thought he’d be keen for there to be more red in the logo

lol wtf even is this story. Club does some research on the idea of a logo change and we have the media using it to generate clicks and heading the nightly news preview and Lloyd continuing his irrelevancy.

it’s reached controversy level

You’re new here aren’t you?
Not Blitz, but the world.

If ever there was a supporter base that doesn’t fall for bullshit media tactics and the sports news cycle, you’d think it’d be Essendon supporters who lived through the saga.
There was not one quote in the article from anyone at the club. Not one.

Apparently…
We love being outraged more than anything else. It’s like a sport for most Essendon fans…

Personally I’m not sure that you’ve run with this line enough yet

Slow news week

That is actually a very good point. We might win a final if we have good feng shui.

Or, the club possibly ‘gave’ the story to a journo to run with it as an opportunity to get a temperature check on a possible change? That’s how these things often work you know.

I suspect the reaction and response has taken them by surprise.

Peter Jackson once tried to tinker with another aspect of the clubs identity, the song. It too was met with anger and the new song was ditched.

Anytime you mess with symbols emblematic of a clubs DNA, the response will be strong. Today reinforces this.

Change and a freshen up will occur. However, it’s all about engagement and taking fans on the journey and ensuring the change is transparent and socialised.

And just as I hit send, the explain story note is dispatched.
