Coaching Panel for 2014 season

Barrett on the Sunday Footy Show mentioned an unnamed non Essendon candidate in the running now, and that Bomber is possibly a little less likely again. Unsure what that is based on, but thought I'd post it.

I would love kirk just a guess ,very strong source tells jude bolton wants to go into media,

Could Basset be more than an assistant? Might be a far stretch so prob not? Could be head of player development?

Barrett can suck on my sack. I refuse to watch any show or listen to any radio he is a part of.

Not a far stretch at all.
He currently does everything at Norwood, runs the show pretty much. Puts in a hell of a lot of time and is responsible for most of the junior development.
Definately could do the job

If he has done as good as some say at Norwood then having him as the dedicated development coach for 5year and below players would be great. Would allow Skippy to concentrate on installing game plan/style into the players on match day, whilst having more time to search out future draft potential. Add to that Basset could be a specialist coach for the seniors, stoppage, match ups or opp analysis to get him into AFL scene again. Then next year move him up to a line coach.

i wouldn't trust skippy to install a dvd player

Me neither, especially as I have no idea who skippy is,  , (apart from Skippy the bush kangaroo).

Development is where we have been let down..........Steinberg? Kavanagh? Colyer? Hardingham? Jetta?

These guys have talent, they have been around long enough, I mean look at Bruest, Gunston, Stratton yesterday all in similar draft years to Stein, Kav and Colyer. Area we need to address now and work with what we have because I believe in these guys.

Is today’s theme to compare Essendon ‘un-developed’ players to Hawthorn players?

We can do Collingwood, West Coast, Bulldogs even Richmond if you like?

Development Coach : Cocrane say no more.

Welcome James Byrne now he will deliver!

Thanks, Nocturnal.

Mate, your posts are confusing.  Who is Cocrane?

Byrne has already been at the club for a year, so I'm not sure what your point is re him.

Byrne has been there for 2 years.

Why are we getting excited about Matt Thomas?

Interesting tweet by terry Wallace . . . Seems a decision is imminent Cricthon?

@thelistmanager: After 2 weeks I have given Essendon my recommendations but I now step away and let those at the club make their own decisions.Good luck.

Doesn't sound like the sort of guy who would want to take the top job only to step into the background in 12 months time.

Just saw that, looks like they are getting close

I repeat what I've said earlier. If Bomber's a candidate and he's not chosen someone needs to be shot.

If some candidate from out there where the buses don't run has impressed at the interview stage, BFD! Without getting into it, I've had to to clean up after ■■■■■■■ loony tune wankers who leap frogged the obvious standout candidate because they were "great at the interview" and the panel wanted to be "creative". Remember our coach prior to Hirdy?

Bomber is so obviously the ideal fit that if he's thrown his hat into the ring and isn't picked, we should sack the board.

He's the best coach of recent decades, in case anyone has forgotten.

Any news?

Looks like the B&F annoucment is unlikly

I will act as the football representative from the executive and oversee all matters relating to the football department.
Ray Gunston

Essendon Football Club today announced the temporary re-structure of its football department ahead of the upcoming free agency, trade and draft periods.

In the absence of Danny Corcoran, who will commence his four-month suspension from the Club on October 1, interim CEO Ray Gunston will oversee the football department.

The day-to-day responsibilities of the general manager of football will be shared between football operations manager Steven Alessio and list manager Adrian Dodoro.

Gunston said the temporary re-structure had been finialised ahead of an important period on the football calendar.

“This structure provides the football department with the necessary framework to make important decisions for the future of the Club during the upcoming free agency, trade and draft periods,“ Gunston said

“Steven will look after all administrative, planning and operational matters while Adrian will look after player contracts, list management and draft preparations.”

“I will act as the football representative from the executive and oversee all matters relating to the football department.”

As the Bombers continue the search for a new senior coach, Gunston said the recruitment process was tracking well.

“The process of appointing our senior coach for the 2014 season is progressing well,” Gunston said.

“It‘s important the selection committee continue to work through the process to ensure the best person for the role is appointed”

“At this stage, it is unlikely we will be in a position to make the announcement at the best and fairest on Wednesday night but we look forward to making an announcement as soon as possible.”

Gunston also confirmed strength coach Suki Hobson had tendered her resignation to the Club.

“It is disappointing to be losing Suki but we understand that family comes first and we respect her decision to return home to the UK,” Gunston said.

“Suki has been a valuable member of the club‘s strength and conditioning team over the past two years and has developed great respect from the players and coaching staff in her time at the Club.”

“We wish her all the best for the future.”

Rehabilitation coach Jarrod Wade will transition into the position held by Hobson.

The Club recently announced Justin Crow has been appointed High Performance Manager for the next two seasons.
