Coaching Team Review - please make new plans for 2019

we were an absolute basket case at stages back then. i think people are giving the knights era waaaayyyy too much credit.

The Club was pretty much a suburban football club when Knights had it.

Now every resource under the sun is available. We should be doing far better now!

Corrigan made the ridiculous comment after the Shockers game in R2 that we moved the ball too quickly. Woosha then repeated it verbatim in his post-match presser. Since then, we have moved the ball slowly & still missed targets. No idea how to get through a zone at the moment. Perhaps, the players are frustrated that they can’t play more instinctively & with a bit of flair. Our body language post that Shockers game has been really poor (the Port win being the exception).

They thought we played at a really high level in the first half ! Really? It was a horror show from both sides and we were marginally better, marginally.

Also it’s the players’ fault for not being unified. Great.

We are beyond farked ATM.

These guys all look tired, stressed and bewildered. I’ve seen that look before from people who were totally out of they’re depth and are just faking it professionally.

Why doesn’t neeld appear?

We love a good internal promotion, they’re everywhere from the coaching department through to the executive level.

On what possible basis can this trend be justified given our onfield performance over the last 15 years.

It’s high time for the board to step up and make some uncomfortable decisions.

We have overcomplicated the game plan, picked players that cannot perform the tasks required and turned players that are actually good into horseshit.
Our transition is too slow on the switch so by the time we get to the wing we are manned up.
Skills are deplorable, i have no idea what we did in the pre-season.
Players are so confused and completely devoid of all confidence at not understanding what the fuuck they are asked to do.
We are clearly picking guys who are at 50% fitness/injured.
We have not debuted anywhere near enough kids over the past two years.
For a coaching panel that has Harvey and Woosha two of the hardest cnts to take the field, we have pretty much zero physicality.

Even Skeeta?

Our positional play is horrendous.

The way we set up forward and backward of the ball is putrid.

At any stoppage our forwards are about 30m from the contest and opposition defenders are sitting about 50-60m back. What happens when we win the contest??

Our defence is the opposite, our defenders play right up next to their forwards so anything kicked over their heads is a 50/50 leg race

This sort of football is killing our forwards, making the midfielders skills even worse as when they look up they have no option, and exposing our defenders in one on one footraces.

I’m not usually one to call for heads, but Neeld should not be on that list, and a replacement for that role is not needed.

Rob Kerr was a loss.

Hardly.

He started April 2014.

He brought on Neeld in Oct 2014 as head of player development & then made him game performance coach in 2016.

Then he instigated the coaching review in Sept 2017, pushed McKenna out after 2yrs in role where we also made finals… then decided that Neeld would also devise our new midfield strategy and Skippy would be midfield line coach and teach it

Surely was an AFL plant

Would love to known the reasoning behind extending Worsfolds contract so early in the season. Surely someone off field needs to be held accountable for that.

And we continually go the cheap option in the football department. Jackson did it, now Campbell is doing it. We are the biggest bunch of tight arses we may as well move to ■■■■■■■ elsternwick.

There is literally no one at the club that I like at the moment.

There is also the fact that in the last two games Stewart has been almost completely shut down.

Maybe it is the coaching salary cap that is why our coaching quality has fallen off the cliff.
Id be looking at Worsfolds assistants

Mark Neeld - Game Performance Coach - Uninspiring

Rob Harding - Game Intelligence & Opposition Strategy Coach - must be under the pump

Mark Harvey - Performance Coach, Backs - is it time for a change? at least he gives a F

Hayden Skipworth - Performance Coach, Midfield, would rather move him back to forwardline.

Paul Corrigan - Performance Coach, Forwards …havent been that impressed with him TBH. Poor mans Skipworth

If you could make changes then

Blake Caracella - Game Performance Coach

James Hird - Game Intelligence & Opposition Strategy Coach
Sean Wellman - Performance Coach, Backs
Brett Ratten - Performance Coach, Midfield,

Hayden Skipworth - Performance Coach, Forwards
