The Coffee Commission - under Nauru House, 88 Collins Street (Little Collins Street side) - no-nonsense coffee shop. No food, just a few slices, muffins etc on offer. Consistent.
Famish’d - purely because they use St Ali beans, one of my personal faves. Their baked potatoes are awesome.
Little Bean Blue - bit pretentious, but some of their rotating single origin beans are outstanding.
d’Marco - Paramount shopping cenre, Little Bourke St end. Bit of an iconic for those in the area. Great classic Italian coffee. Probably the most consistent of the lot on this list.
The Sensory Lab - Little Collins St, a part of David Jones. The new wave of coffee in full swing. Cold drip, single origin, north facing blah blah blah, if you are inclined that way. House blend is a damn good coffee.
Black Flat Coffee - Glen Waverley (Axil)

Peddler is Nunawading and on the corner of my street! It’s not bad but is expensive given that there is nothing else around and it is Nunawading. You can get a reasonable coffee for more than a dollar cheaper down the road at Blackburn North shopping centre.
Fair enough! I’m not sure how much it has changed, since it used to be run by the owner of Red Cup Cafe in Blackburn. Have you been to Cafe Rubix?

Along Mt Dandenong Road before the M3?
Depends what time I leave lol. I’m basically on the corner of Eastfield and Bayswater and go one of Eastfield > Mt Dandy > M3, Bayswater > Mountain Highway > M3 or Bayswater > Canterbury > M3
I’ve been starting later lately so I’ve got a good 15 minutes of deviation available for the right coffee
And they call me the coffee snob, look at yourselves

Via Canterbury - You’ve got ‘The Village Foodstore’ and ‘Chapter Too’ in Heathmont, and they’re conveniently on the same side on the way to the M3. Ever since the new owners of ‘Chapter Too’ took over in 2013, I’ve only been back once.
Penny Farthing, High St, Northcote is my current fave.
I live in Sumner Estate pocket of N’cote, so have quite a few decent places within a 10-15 min walk:
Milkwood on Nicholson St.
New Day Rising on Blyth/Arthurton.
The Herbert on Herbert St.
Pope Joan on Nicholson St.
Julio on Miller St.
Growers on St Georges Rd.
Green Park on Park St.
But will walk up the hill to Penny Farthing by choice.
Any one know of good coffee around Spencer / Flinders St corner / Jeff’s Shed area?
