Lol. Originally 4 adults and 1 toddler but my mum rocked up earlier so I asked her to stay too. I sent food home with people, especially the cakes and we didn’t touch the platter with the cheese, so not total pigs. I just over cater always.

Well I’m sorry to say that Nagi’s pot roast was a little disappointing. I followed the recipe to the letter, but my outcome did not look like the one in the video. The meat was beautifully tender, but the gravy really didn’t thicken at all as far as I could tell, and it tasted very, very fatty. There’s tons left over, and I’ll be letting the liquid cool right off and skimming as much fat off the top as possible, then thickening it with cornflour. Also adding a lot of salt.

I must say I think slow-cooked things are generally much better when they’re done in the oven than in a slow cooker. I’m not sure why but they do.

If you know how your pots and pans work in your oven I agree 100%.

If you fail at one of Nagi’s recipes then the problem is with you and not the recipe!

Could be!

Flame grilled lamb ribs and pork spare ribs and a few snags for my son. Came up alright.

carbs bltn? you ok?

Coconut Flour/Flakes is/are relatively low in Carbs.

Also, Im not that dogmatic with counting Macros.
I’d estimate most days I’m on 150g of Carbs, so no where near a low-carber.
Though I think it works very, very well for appetite control.

Oops…this is the Cooking thread, not the Weight Loss thread.
I’ll stop waffling on now :grinning:

Mmmm waffles

The beat thing you can teach a cook is intuition and I reckon yours is pretty good. If a recipe feels wrong, modify it. Trust yourself.

Immune boosting Pumpkin soup for dinner tonight. Adding plenty of Ginger, Garlic, Turmeric, Sage and a dash of Cayenne Pepper.

Also making some low carb bread

I won’t do Pumpkin soup without roasting it first ever again.

Once done, … you can’t go back. :ok_hand:

Yeah. I’ve roasted before and I agree. It’s yummy! Same with cauliflower soup.

It’s always great when you find a good seafood joint. My weekend treat is a trip to Moonee Ponds and grabbing some seafood.

Tonight was coconut crumbed Flathead and Garlic prawns

Oh, and maybe some oysters with vodka and hot sauce.
