COVID-19 Round 12 - c'mon, it's just a little prick

They all have a cut off period for assigning a case against a specified date. IIRC NSW cut off is 8pm, but a fair amount of data would be collated and verified later in the evening.

Just saw the news saying that AZ is being phased out (I know this would have been already discussed so apologies for being late to the discussion).

Why would people eligible for the AZ go out and get their shot now? If they’re phasing it out, it’s just going to make people more hesitant about getting it.

if you didn’t die on the first one, you wont die on the 2nd one.

But those that haven’t had their first one yet and are over 60. They’ll just wait it out I’m assuming?

CBA innit? x% chance of dying with covid, less chance from vaccine.

If they haven’t had it by now, then clearly they’re not worth the government effort involved in trying to convince them otherwise

Vic health working through people returning from Sydney

EFA.
How else do you expect to get likes here…

TBF, while the CHO might sign off on the Orders/Directions in other States, there would have been a high level of engagement with politicians and others to ensure that a measure was workable, capacity to enforce and if there were less economically damaging measures to achieve the health objective. Remember Dan saying he had spent all of a weekend on the Australian Open.
And Gil has probably been driving them all crazy to get AFL protocols a tick.
Sutton drew a distinction between ATAGI, as a group of high level technical specialists who stay in their lane on scientific advice ( like AZ age restrictions) and CHOs who have to decide to whether to accept the advice ( and how to implement a decision).
That said, if it is Hazzard who is the decision maker in NSW, I suppose Gladys can blame him if it all goes belly up ( although she bangs on about not imposing too harsh measures on NSW)
Meanwhile, in Victoria, the Hun is running the line that Dan is hiding behind Sutton.

I don’t know if it’s just cos I’ve actually seen/heard some news the past few days, but has their been increasing publicising of people being knocked back on compassion exemptions etc???

when our outbreak started a lot was made of the school boy drowning funeral.

Only the family from USA that are fully vaccinated in NSW HQ that are trying to bypass NSW HQ and meet up with their father in Queensland who is near death.

Reportedly, the bloke who was vaxed and tested and ready to charter a flight to Qld has now been given permission to visit his dying father. This was after pass the parcel, with Annastacia saying the Feds set the guidelines on mandatory 14 day HQ and Morrison expressing great empathy ( no doubt prodded by Jen)

I just saw one on the news that said a person who flew back from Belgium to see his dying mother who was in WA could only get a flight to Melbourne and couldn’t transit to WA.

His mother died whilst he was in HQ here in Melbourne.

Has Victoria asked for ADF assistance in manning the land border with NSW to check their permits?
Are the airlines cooperating with the other States in refusing boarding to those without valid permits?
How do Qld and SA manage the pushback ?

This the dude who has had something like 4 neg tests in the last 2 weeks? or is my 2nd hand info way off.

Come on now.
ADF?
They are skilled enough to man a door in HQ so they are left to desk duties.
They aren’t skilled enough to cut down trees during the Dandenong flood. So they are given other roles.
I’m sure they won’t man a border. Probably just be lollie pop holders at children’s crossings.

Not the airlines job
It’s up to the traveller to have the correct permits or risk being turned back at the border
