I think the idea is for overseas people as they often come back with covid, putting them into hotels is where all the leakage is coming from IE shared air spaces, corridors ect
The school has a number of indigenous students ( boarding ) who are eligible to be vaccinated - The school ensures these students are vaccinated - There will be indigenous students who are also eligible - Lets hope their parents/schools organise vaccinations.
It’s around 1% to 2% that come back with COVID - When you consider local infections and the number of close contacts ( a few become positive) you primarily have them isolating at home with limited supervision, hence why sending them to quarantine centres you have more supervision - It seems a better risk management approach.
At last count 4 was it?
Something like 160 at a school in Brewarrina, but no evidence that unvaxed, like that school in Shepp
But we are in the General Gibberish category on Blitz
One that goes straight to the pool room
But somehow in Sydney it’s still spread wider than the original locked down LGAs.
Do they have locked roads with checkpoints in and out of the ring of steel like we had? I hope so.
The permit system relies on the good nature of the individual. Not everyone follows the rules.
I dont know if we are talking opposite things here. The current proposals for purpise built Quaratine (Vic Qld WA) are for overseas arrivals are they not?
Nobody is doing a “ring of steel” because it’s pointless waste of time and resources, as was all but acknowledged by our own government and VicPol only a couple of weeks ago.
Regional police doing patrols in the regional areas of most concern, Police have been out in force at Jindabyne and Thredbo over the last couple of weeks, as an example. Locals have the pitchforks out as well.
As this situation escalates it cant possibly hurt to have more police involved checking people moving around, just the presence would be a deterent for some to do the wrong thing. But Gladys is still trying to be the cool mum
Problem is there’s no law against moving around Metro Sydney. You can basically do whatever the ■■■■ you want except go to the pub or a restaurant for a meal.
You’d have a greater risk of people trying to flood regional areas if they went to stronger restrictions I reckon with people looking to escape them.
Hazzard’s comments are chilling. Hes basically threatening people , if you dont do the right thing , you will have to wear the consequences.
Well those consequences might have a permanent border closure to the rest of the country until vaccinations ramp up enough, see how that goes with your beloved citizens you were gushing over 2 weeks ago,
What an absolute C&*t of a man
Ok so when you say LGA’s are under a lockdown border from regional NSW it’s actually nothing like what Victoria had as we actually had these checkpoints monitored.
So the NSW ‘border’ isn’t actually like a border.
That ring of steel you say ‘was a waste of time’ actually allowed regional Victoria to open up earlier and with confidence. So I’m not sure why anyone would say it’s a waste of time.
Except for essential reasons to leave home/hours a day out of home and km restrictions, plus nowhere to shop except food.
Gladys justifies school closures on mobility of parents doing the drop offs.
