According to the entry requirements they are asked to present for a test. Did they not?
Exceptions
Commercial Transport and Freight travellers who have been in Victoria in the previous 14 days must have evidence of a COVID-19 test within the past 48 hours; or must have a COVID-19 test within 24 hours after arrival and must QR code in at the testing station.
Wrong.
Until very recently the rules were a test with 24hrs of arrival into SA unless proof of a test in last 7 days.
Many doing the Sydney to Perth route can time it so they spend less than 24hrs in SA and therefore avoid testing here and then get to WA and avoid the test there
I wonder how often State Hubs have temporary over supply.
JJ is supposed to be sorting out supplies to hubs so that there is little to no wastage.
Sure, if some of the supplies delivered are left over, use all possible means not to waste it , but ATM the reality is that there is not enough Pfizer to meet demand.
ADD
And possibly not enough AZ curtently produced to vax the younger under age group
Completely agree that we donāt have enough supply. However in a limited supply scenario, avoiding wastage is all the more important.
Case in point, a 27 y/o friend, who is not eligible for a shot yet got her first Pfizer at the GP on Friday because they had some cancellations and couldnāt get enough patients in the eligible cohort to fill in (i.e. 40-60). I find it unbelievable that there wouldnāt be people in the eligible bracket desperate for a shot, but there you go. Better to put it in someoneās arm than throw it out!
As for old mate JJ, I assume he can only base supplies on the number of bookings.
Again not true.
Itās quite possible to do it but you would need to be tested more than likely in SA on the way back.
Not saying all can do it but there are some regulars that have been able to time their breaks and journeys to coordinate avoiding testing. With the new SA rules it makes it tougher
