COVID-19 Round 13 - IT'S NOT A RACE!

It’s for 2 weeks.

I’m just asking for better protocols. Neg test 24 hours prior to crossing would be a great start.

I don’t entirely agree with our rules. Like it or not trucks are the backbone of Australia and we shouldn’t be trying to disincentive them from doing their job and delivering vital freight. Sydney is still a key hub and we are treading dangerous waters by putting onerous restrictions on drivers.
Victoria has banned removalists which is fine, most other freight drivers are complying with some absolute strict rules as it is and doing the right thing

Do you know what the rules are for entering Vic from NSW?

Do we have any protection?

Personally I couldn’t give a ■■■■ if removalist are banned. People can wait or wait for their furniture.

Lockdown? Not realising it’s ok for a Vax?

Great, just great. We’re screwed.

I got a call on Friday from my quack that they had left over Pfizer if I wanted it.

I was on a wait list

Challenge with Pfizer is they are administered in vials that allow 5 or 6 jabs.

Once opened they only have 4 to 6 hours to jab people the full amount before it spoils.

If people really want Pfizer, call around and put yourself on the waitlists. You will get some.

You need a negative test within 72 hours of crossing, with your approved permit, if coming from a red zone (which is basically all of NSW)

Vaccination Centre in Warrnambool puts the word out at about 4.30 of an afternoon to businesses surrounding that they have leftover doses.

About 90% of my workplace are now fully vaccinated.

Yep, with federal websites and hotline.

It is easier to keep it local, keep in the loop with local doctors

Bookings taken and scheduled against supply availability!
I forget which presser, but in response to a Q from a journo about more participation by pharmacies, the response was that it would be feasible when more supplies - given that current vax outlets do not havre enough supply.
Perhaps this flurry of media articles and tweets , including about refuseniks, represent an attempt to divert attention from the fact that there are not currently enough supplies to vax those who currently want to be vaxed???

Protection is the vaccination

There are issues with estimates of demand and uneven distribution, but it is a FACT that there is not enough supply!

Speaking with sister who works for a federal government body in Victoria.

All her colleagues are 40+ minimum.

They are all now ‘booked in for the vax’.

Nothing like a 5th lockdown to get them moving, FMD.

According to our drivers you have to apply for a permit to enter VIC and this permit lasts for 14 days, during that 14 days you are required to be tested every 3 days

We don’t have it yet so perhaps a test 24 hours prior would offer more protection.

Seemingly 72 hours out puts us right in the sweet spot to be the most infectious whilst they were here.

I want it tighter!!

No fair enough. Perhaps we just got ■■■■■■ and nothing would have helped us.

I’m done now. Thanks for robust discussion.

Not sure you can say it is a fact, might be the case in some places.

I know at least a dozen people who wanted the Vax and got it, without much stress.

I know way more people than were available to get it, but didn’t.

Is that due to the media’s message on lack of supply? Lazy? Anti vaxxers?

What the Commonwealth has acknowledged!!!

There’d be a grand total of about 0.05% of the population that will go to that much effort.

I am.no expert but can’t you return a negative result within the first 24 hours, but have it?

I think logistically, getting the test and results within 24 hours and getting to VIC would.be a nightmare.

5 hr drive from Sydney to VIC border, plus test and results. Need some flexibility.
