I wonder when the studies will start with the 3rd dose booster after 6/12 months against Delta, either Pfizer or AZ? I would suspect either would end up having very strong results against hospitalisation or death.
Set the border along the Barassi line, we get the ski fields and Riverina. Also since Narooma has an Australian rules team I claim Eurobodalla and Sapphire Coast as well.
It goes further than that. When I worked at the SACA we got to see how the other states operated and itâs a real eye opener. Victoria and NSW have so much more money to throw at their underage programs but they also do it a lot better
SloMo will throw anyone under a bus to try and keep the stench away from him as an election approaches. If NSW still struggling it will be all out âweâve done everything we could, but the state government has fked it, make them pay, not usâ.
The problem is they will use vaccine to cover up their other failures. Why lock down hard when youâve got vaccines. Why a have a curfew when everyone will get a vaccine. Why wear masks when weâre getting more vaccines.
Why should Sydney do the hard yards. Can I just say we donât like to restrict our citizens.
Give us more vaccine so we can get on with being superior.
Thatâs against symptoms, not hospitalisation or death.
Interestingly, from that study:
Pfizer 88% effective against symptomatic infection with 2 doses
AZ 67% effective against symptomatic infection with 2 doses
But both over 90% effective against hospitalisation and death from other studies.
Itâs also worth remembering that almost all AZ has been administered to 40+ YO, and the vast majority to 60+ YO. Most Pfizer has been administered to younger adults. Also lots of warnings that Pfizer is less effective on the elderly. When you read between the lines, theyâre probably of very similar effectiveness overall adjusting for age group.
I think too we had additional restrictions in terms of essential work e.g 30% reduction in workers allowed on site at any one time?
We had a supplier having to split their shifts in manufacturing completely across 3 shifts in 24 hours including 3 separate break out rooms. Had to hire an additional portable facility in order to accommodate this but they wanted to do everything right in order to keep manufacturing.
The alternative as noted before is NSW in lockdown until January. Increasing the risk of covid spreading over the borders, shutting down 33% of the national GDP etc etc etc. Blame game aside (and there is a reasonable debate to be had there, not downplaying that), itâs in the national interest to get the NSW situation under control ASAP, as it will impact EVERYONE.
Taking 200k Pfizer shots from across the country (not much in the scheme of things) and re-allocating to essential workers in SW should have a net benefit to all.
