Do we need more ICU nurses?
Doing what we can to expand the staffing levels, theatre nurses retraining to help out in ICU , can’t give an actual number on nursing numbers.

New Zealand records 49 new local cases
New Zealand’s top health official Dr Ashley Bloomfield says there are 49 new cases of COVID-19 — all of them in Auckland.
He says chains of transmission are being broken and the reproduction rate of the virus is below one for this outbreak.

It would be useful to provide a timeline comparing wait times between getting the Pfizer vs Astra Zeneca vaccines- as @choppsuey suggested yesterday - and that if you feel ok about AZ (ask your GP) that you will be vaccinated in a similar time frame.

No, I don’t think so. Other nursing staff may have been, but not aware of ICU nurses doing this. Unions need to be more positive, not negative
Can we cope with the projected peak load in October? Get out and get vaccinated. That’s the most important input.

Interesting the difference in Reff between Prof Adrian and Chris Billington. Even Prof Adrian has 2000 cases a day by Sept 10 with a more conservative Reff
