Hence why in October we are going to Tasmania for 2 weeks. Not going to give WA any money

Littleproud making things up on the run.
Refers to Gold Star SA, which has a system allowing for Vanuatu seasonal workers to do their quarantine in Vanuatu.

  • isnā€™t the SA trial about doing alternative to HQ, involving a form of home quarantine ?

We are doing both.
We are about to start (or have already started) pre departure quarantine with Vanuatu.
This is a seperate system to our home quarantine trials

Thanks - pre departure quarantine for Vanuatu might set off requests from Australians trying to get home, but limited by HQ caps ( as well as flights)

Itā€™s only for seasonal workers at this stage and only Vanuatu because they are very, very low risk. May be extended to Fiji but canā€™t imagine much more for a while yet

Have stayed out of this thread for weeks - so apologies if this has been posted. Itā€™s an interesting look at whatā€™s happening around the world.

This reply to that thread pretty much sums up my thoughts on it - massive lack in nuance.

Some bits had been posted in here too.

Weā€™re about 128k first doses short of 70% first dose by my approximation.
2 big days would do it. We did 46k today in an average day.

So 2 days, once GP and pharmacist doses are factored in?

Edit: nevermind your edit answered my question.

Down to single digits now in Dubbo.

However, testing is at 25% of its previous levels, and positive cases (% of tests) are close to the peak.

Make of this what you will.

Concern at the moment is for the two Nursing Homes that have around 20 cases in total, with one fellow passing away aged 90.

Freedomz are comingā€¦

Yeah I didnā€™t use the SV app. I used the same one I always use but this time It didnā€™t work. It took me to first page of info to fill out to get my number but couldnā€™t get past first page. I found out that the numbers provided for the test are valid for 60 or 90 days ( canā€™t remember) and can reuse the same number. They will send a txt when the number is about to run out.

I have elderly relatives there (at least one in a nursing home) that Iā€™d prefer not to die, too.

P.S. Not enough Fark Carlton-ing in that post for my liking.

NSW back to normal vaccination rates, weā€™re a bit down yesterday. May be some data reconciliation at hand.

I did LOL at the prediction changes today: first dose countdowns went -1, -1, -2 while the second doses went 0, 0, 0, +1.

i.e. yes, itā€™s data. But you need to interpret it.

Too much is being made of simply taking the current 7 day vax average to project forward, especially for second doses. There would not be a 71 day gap in Victoria between 80% single dose and 80% double dose, for instance. At most it will be 42 days (6 weeks), but it is likely to be shorter than that as there will high availability of doses and people will be able to bring bookings forward.

It may well be a Mesa, but itā€™s still a mess.
