Given the alternative, itâll be a good outcome. Acknowledging that less people dying than expected is a good outcome doesnât make you a heartless person.

Yes, going to be multiple 1000s of cases and double digit (at least) daily deaths.
As the vaccines are only 60-something% effective against infection but 95-ish% against hospitalisation level illness and 99% against death, most of the cases will be in the 65% double vaccinated population.
The deaths will be much higher in the unvaccinated population, but hopefully not kids under 12 who whilst they get infection and illness, are supposed to still have a much lower proportion of severe illness than the rest of the population, even with Delta.
So:
- Get farken jabbed
- Be prepared for 14 days quarantine when you get infected.
- Be ready to jump on 5-12 vaccinations when they become available if you have kids.
- Strap in to ride the exit wave, it is going to be big.
- Stay angry about the dropping of the ball on vaccination between April and July, because a lot of this was avoidable but the Government, the Media and ATAGI combined to â â â â things up.

Singapore had 3,400 cases yesterday but the data is encouraging re. hospitalisations and ICU admissions. 23K active cases and only 34 in ICU is an outstanding advertisement for the efficiency of the vaccine.

We hope. However the Vic CHO seems to like to take a cautious approach. It is still 14 days for the fully vaxxed now, with no word on relaxing that. I reckon they will keep it at least until Christmas.)
(Of course, only the law abiding will actually do the 14 daysâŚ)

I notice on the Dept of Health tweets where people give their experiences with COVID, without fail, someone claims that they are an actor. The acting industry must be booming at record levels!
