Jeroen and co refer to sentinel and surveillance testing.
I took sentinel to be at risk sectors subject to regular testing, surveillance to be sampling of general population or areas where there have been outbreaks or clusters.
Maybe experts could clarify
I call bullshit on that comment!
I wouldnât say itâs regular, but nurses and paramedics have definitely posted about the 'rona, and how exhausted they are (which is at least an indirect criticism of the government).
And itâs not rare.
Edit: clerks, sometimes, too.
My local respiratory clinic ( in existence long before pandemic) used to only test symptomatic, now more open.

Herald Sun reporting Regional Victoria on high alert from new exposure sites and wastewater detections. I am behind the paywall and canât find any info on this anywhere else. Does anyone know where they are referring to , please ?
It comes as new unexpected wastewater detections were listed on Friday in the stateâs southeast, specifically the Phillip Island and Traralgon areas.
In the last hour or so, exposure sites in Taralgon(T2), Wangaratta(T2) and Wodonga(T1) have been listed.
Cheers.
Mitchell shire was identified this morning as an LGA of concern.
Jeroen rattled through them at presser, ABC is reporting.
CHO advice later this afternoon should have specifics, in addition to info on gov site
BTW I am not an anti-vaxxer and I had no idea about this any of this (having to remain silent and not have an opinion) until Friday this week.
It is also happening overseas.
