I believe they are now open. We got a receipt back today to say the application has been received. Now how long do we wait before they fark this one up? Still waiting for the 1st grant & wow is that a massive clusterfark of incompetent bureaucracy. At the very least they should provide a defined appeal system but its near impossible to get any help at all - it has to be a deliberate ploy to make it too hard to keep chasing. Hopefully this one doesn’t cause as many issues. I’d rather they just said no than drag out a process I don’t have time for & end up worse than before.
Mornington Peninsula the first Melbourne LGA to be covid-19 free.
There’s quite a few with 3 or less active cases now. I’d expect a bunch of LGAs to be covid-19 free this time next week.

There was one question today as to why Regional doesn’t ‘just open’ instead of waiting for Melbourne to be covid free.
Andrews said the intention is to open all at once, but if Melbourne is held back, he’d look into releasing Regional first. But he and Allan were adament that there is expected to be movement between regional and metro as there is right now.
If Mornington is covid free and it can remain covid free for a fortnight, then that means we can expect most other LGAs near the fringes of regional to be able to get to 0 and stay at 0.

Boris was never trailing in the polls. Brexit was more or less 50/50 when it came time to vote.
Trump? This is a myth. Yes he was losing in the polls throughout the campaign, but the gap had closed by election day and most polling places gave him about a 30% chance of winning.

Do they know who patient zero was?
Were they infected at home then brought it in?
How did they spread it?
Was it people not wiping down equipment or shared locker room?
Can it be cleaned more often and made safe?
Were they from the same LGA or from elsewhere?
Did they seed entire south east suburbs?
Does this show a clear failure in contact tracing?
Should the gym have used ADF instead of gym operators?
Do gyms need full PPE?

In a typical aged care cluster, how long (on the average) does it take for a case (let’s keep it to residents for now) to be fully recovered.

They did a detailed briefing yesterday which was quite good. They specifically stated that the strain was the same and not less virulent. Different age groups are getting infected compared to the start of the year and the medical treatment has improved with some new drug options that weren’t in place during the first wave. It’s probably available on the BBC / online somewhere for anyone who wants to watch another press conference.
