Covid 19 - Round 7 - Keep calm and don’t go to the butcher

Responsibility for compliance, also keeping people in hotels safe, including protection from infection.
Sense of numbers coming back, including sense of extent of logistical measures,

High cost, but benefits in hotel occupancy.
What you said on 27 March

wonder how many of the right are watching this? inquiries are not sexy.

Home iso would not have delivered benefit to tourist industry and jobs.
I’m lost, was it the individual decision of States to go hotel qurantine.? All States did it over home iso.

And many have already decided how they’re going to react to the findings.

it’s just what we always do as humans isn’t it

DOJ document of April setting out responsibilities.
Don’t believe I saw it , not normal to see such.

Governance! No direct link to CHO in a health emergency.

Contracts, who was responsible for hygiene - it was outsourced to them.
Not a good approach considering risk - Fair observation

how long does this usually take?

It’ll be finalised when we reach 0 cases across a 28 day period…

Just kidding.
Think it’ll go to 5pm.

Labour hire inquiry had identified problems- not new with this hotel use - but higher risk because of pandemic.
Now, to ADF, on 27 March possible ADF assistance canvased, Crisp not in favour .

She’s being too nice!
Needs more loaded questions.
Like you said this so that mean your decision was wrong?
Rach can provide some expert guidance.

Mornington Peninsula goes from 0 to 1 active cases.
But Glen Eira LGA replaces them as the only local LGA with zero.

Have I heard it right…
Andrews said that from National Cabinet meetings, the ADF weren’t available for hotel security. NSW had a special agreement with them (probably ties to ruby Princess issue).

Can this inquiry get to national cabinet meeting notes?
@bigallan

Gaetjens Eccles - were you were aware that ADF on offer

  • I had opposite view from National Cabinet discussions, that they might have been available in NSW.
  • if I had been aware of a Gaetjens offer. I might have taken a different view, subject to clarification of what precisely was on offer.
