The only good thing about going to Chaddy is the inevitable detour to Oakleigh and subsequent gorging on gyros that will ensue.
Moved across to the other side of the bay in Jan to escape that place.
Itâs shittiness is absolutely not exaggerated.
this is as good an example of out of the frying pan and into the fire as youâll ever hope to hear.

Melbourne has just done better than Singapore. Yesterday we had our first community case after 15 days.
i grew up in Oakleigh and i went to the old chaddy as a kid - back in the days when there was the convent on the corner. Very fond memories of the donut shop which had the donut machine in window so you watched them being made in front of you.
I always go for the roof parking too. I donât mind the walk
Whatâs the border situation there?
The sort of adventure where youâre likely to be attacked by orcs at any moment?
I miss those machines!
You read about it in books and I experience it IRL.
chadstoneâs fine if you know what youâre there for and can get in/out quickly
like any large shopping centre I guess. get in, get the item, GTFO.
Just getting a car park is a farking ordeal, let alone inside the place⌠and Iâm basing this on 13 years ago. It must hell on earth nowadaysâŚ
These days Iâd go to that little French cart and spend $12 on a gold plated macaron.
Depends on which country youâre travelling from. For most countries, non-residents are not allowed entry. Citizens, PRs and those with work passes/student visas/etc are allowed entry.
A handful of low risk countries, which includes Australia, donât require quarantine after arrival if you test negative on arrival.
For certain other countries (e.g. South Korea), you need quarantine but allowed to do it at your own home.
In general, travellers arriving are required to quarantine for 14-days in dedicated hotels and need to test negative before the end of the quarantine period before theyâre allowed to leave. Itâs also now required to have a negative PCR test result up to 72 hours before travelling.
There was going to be an Air Travel Bubble (ATB) between Singapore and HK which allowed non-restricted entry with a negative test result for both residents and non-residents, but that got put on hold 2 days before it was supposed to happen due to the recent spike of cases in HK.
luckily my brothers live two blocks away - parking no issue for me!
Iâve seen proximity to Chaddy being advertised in house sales listings as a selling point
Iâm like dude, that line is not accomplishing what you intended it to doâŚ
Who are you people?
If I were to travel from Victoria to Adelaide, I would be worried that I might be banned from coming back.
Yeah Iâm curious to see if Dan will make any changes now that weâll let people in. It probably didnât really matter up until the 1st as not many people would go because they couldnât get back in here.
