I posted this in another thread (yesterday) that I spoke with a prominent Carlton person on Saturday at Etihad and he told me that Carlton were preparing big offers for both Gumby and Crameri. He also said that Crameri already had a 2 year offer on the table from Essendon before Crameri's management put negotiations on hold. He also believed that other clubs were circling the pair, hence Carlton preparing BIG offers to trump the others.
In my view, I'd be staggered if Crameri decided to leave. There's no doubt he's been playing hurt for quite a while this year but I agree with the OP that if he's fit enough to play VFL, then he should be playing in the AFL side. I doubt very much whether the ASADA stuff has anything to do with his not signing.
so thats why mick malthouse has been hammering the club? 3 reasons ...deflect from their own problems , he wanted a free ride into the 8 , and he wants the players to walk easier.........but why would he want players that are going to be banned/punished? doesnt make sense
Why would he leave exactly? When he's playing at least 6.5/10 form he's best 22. I'd imagine he'd be on a good coin. Essendon supporter. And I'd say Essendon is both better in terms of right now and future tilts (whether it be WB or Carlton).
I can't imagine the cash upgrade would be huge huge.

What little we do know seems to be pointing towards players not being suspended.
I don't think he will leave, we need him and he has got a real shot at a flag with us (I hope/think :lol: ). Gumby is gawn for sure IMO, Hurley will be required back as Pears has lost the plot and Fletcher is just about done. We need to establish a settled forward line not start from scratch again.

I dont think Pears has been that bad recently, He is starting to show us that he is capable with his run and carry - He is getting his confidence back.

Agree re Pears. Just needs some continuity now. Unfortunately, at the moment, he's only been playing while Fletch is unable to or Hird played Carlisle as a forward. Pears is just getting back to some touch, an injury free pre season and a chance at stringing some games together, he'll return to his best I'm sure.

He is building confidence and with that his games are getting alot better.
