Crameri has already decided to leave

i would be pretty shattered if Crameri left. He really could be the most dominant forward in the game. He has it all. If he could work on a few issues in his game he would be unstoppable. If he left I would be asking for something very very big in return. Considering he has only been in the AFL system for 3 years- he has made a very big impact.

He doesn't have the height to be the most dominant forward in the game. I agree if his kicking improved he'd be much more dangerous. He's the sort of player you want in finals with his playstyle. Don't want to see him go, and have heard the Dogs are offering a massive deal for him. Hope he stays.

Love Crameri. Nearly my favourite player. Must keep him at all costs.

I would be looking at someone like a Blake Carracella, has done wonders with the geelong forward line

Blake is a great coach. Was watching some old Collingwood short training videos, his urgency and vocal power really seems to help players understand just textbook techniques.

u serious keep him at all costs... He has done nothing all year. He has no forward line pressure and didn't set the world on fire at VFL level, if we can get something decent for him, trade him

Just Can't see why the Dogs would want Cram or Gumb - Stringer, Jones, Grant and Dickson they have plenty of forward options to develop. I guess Crameri is an update on Dickson, but they would probably have to pay him 500k to leave the Bombers. And TBH, I don't see Stew doing so...

Good one.

As posted in other thread:

Worth quoting Stewie Crameri's dad as he spoke on radio today (I didn't actually hear it, but my source is impeccable - he listens to the radio almost every day):

"Melbourne got charged and fined for not tanking and rolled over and accepted it. Essendon will not."

(Wish I heard the rest of the interview - dunno if he talked about Stewie's feelings/intentions. Bloody hope he stays.)

Lol I’m confused

Will be invaluable if we can sort out our dysfunional forward line and he settles as the third tall.

Honestly can’t see the Dogs parting with any of their gun mids for him in a trade and not sure what kind of pick we would get for him.

Bring back LLoyd as forward coach!

Surely he could teach the boys a few tricks.

Gumby needs time to prove himself when not injured. Give him a year with a full preseason and no lingering injuries.

We need to keep all our key position players. Remember injuries are common place in today’s fast paced game.

Why don't we just ask his mum?

Really? Hurls, paddy and to a lesser extent Bellcho have shown very little up forward. Combine that with Daniher's inexperience and immature physical attributes and i'd be very unhappy with the forward line you propose.

Daniher will come on nicely with another preseason, Hurls gets over injuries and with more experience, will be a gun forward No questions asked imo. Both are better at ground level and give the forward line more flexability than the other two. I'd rate their defensive efforts as stronger too. Joey a better 'pinch hitting' ruckman than Gumby. Bellchambers can clunk a pack mark and kick a goal as good as Ive seen the 'natural forward' Gumby do.

Ryder's servicable (can kick an arsey goal) i'd rather him just ruck the majority obviously. Plenty of room for crumbers/defensive forwards/resting mids in that setup.

Solves the 'backline too tall with hurley' issue. Can still swing hurls and carlilse when needed. Done

I see Crameri as the 2013 version of Paul Barnard. Rememer the 2000 Grand final, both he and Lloydy kicked 4 goals.

Gumby could have been our Lloyd replacement, but thats not to be. losing Crameri will put a serious dent into what little forward line we actually have at the moment.

Lets hope it doesnt happen.

Everyone's still young. Have patience ffs. Talls don't go on trees(and Crams is considered one of them unfortunately).

Totally agree. Crameri is very important to us. We must keep him.

We haven't seen Crameri at his best for a while, but his best is damn good. He really needs to be 100% or his form suffers badly. We saw it last year too when he got a few niggles, and his output fell off a cliff. The way he plays is physically demanding and requires a lot of athleticism and power. He isn't the most instinctive forward, so without the physical advantage he usually has, his influence on games in minimal. I hope he stays because he provides a point of difference in a forward line that may include the likes of Daniher, Gumbleton, Ryder and Bellchambers.

looking to him to restore some respect to our forward line this weekend.

Looking for him to kick a Baguleyful this match.

Not a massive game last night, but really liked Crammers contribution. Two goals, some nice marks but also worked very hard outside the arc and then going back to goals. We have to keep him, there is so much we can work with and I would be gutted if he left…
