From memory if l recall correctly the description they gave for the most improved at the presentation went forever and gave a heap of other criteria as well before they tacked on most improved at the end. So whilst they called it most improved the club may have assessed it a bit differently to how everyone on here is. But l was a bit out of it so l could be wrong and Myers getting most improved is ridiculous.

No disrespect to Myers, but McKenna finishing inside the Top 10 in the B&F about 4 years after he first started playing the game should have seen him voted as most improved.

I don’t recall the numbers from last year but I’m not sure he was even Top 20 in the B&F last year.

I’d love to see the vote breakdown from each round. When we think back at how bad our first half of the season was we think “oh player x was horrible”, well everyone mostly was, so someone had to get votes and it doesn’t tell me their form was incredible if they were getting votes during that period. And also yes, votes are heavily favoured to those that actually play 22 games and not 16 or 17. Zaharakis was never a chance.

Yes and no. Coaches can give out up to five votes for any player, but they’re not obligated to hand out full votes if no-one was deserving. Essentially the better the team performance, the more votes that get handed out

A veteran winning the most improved player is hilarious and a complete joke. More so if it was actually the case. Not sure if it says more about him or the club. Tippa anywhere near the Top 10 comes a close second. Guess the coaches don’t hold players to the same standards as Blitz does!

Do you not see that it is from zero to five and nowhere does it say that every player gets a vote (a positive vote) they could get a zero in every game. I think the Club website says "between 0 and 5 which strictly, pedantically excludes both zero and five but it obviously includes 5 so logically it also includes 0.

Fully understand that you can get a 0. But it would be very unlikely.
I’d think you’d have to be knocked out in the first minute of the game or have to be completely useless to get a 0 rating.
I’d be very surprised if a player got 0 whilst still playing a full game and still managed to stay in the team the following week.

i’m pretty sure a zero under this system doesn’t neccessarily mean you were terrible. Just not in the best handful

I can’t understand the over the top reactions about Walla finishing 5th and Myers getting the most improved. We’re outsiders…the people voting are knowledgeable professionals within the club. They see and know absolutely everything the players do so why would you rate your opinion as right compared to theirs…
