Cricket Part II

Except this time he got a 100

Which is why we got close this time and might have even won had a few other things gone our way.

Preparation was poor. One week in Brisvegas and our tour match washed out. Compare that with our Indian prep and it’s obvious we took Bangladesh for granted. Not a good look after all the pay dispute dramas.

There was no time for better prep because of the pay dispute.

Steve Smith didn’t pick up a bat for 8 weeks. The onus rests with him.

He wasn’t getting paid. Would you go to work still if your job wasn’t paying you?

Couldn’t of hurt him to do a few net sessions. Plenty of others were at that time

if i had been on millions before and realy he knew he would still be on millions when the smoke cleared. the real disgrace is uzzie not getting a game anywhete since jan

warner is only good when the wicket is like a skating rink because no defence against a turning swinging ball. so he made a 100 but not many in the last few tests.

You could see that happening. We always struggle against spin … esp with no preparation.

From Cricinfo:

For Australia, the result might appear disastrous. In fact it was a natural continuation of their struggles against quality spin on turning pitches in Asia. They lost to Pakistan in the UAE in 2014, in Sri Lanka last year, and to India this year - albeit in India they were very competitive. And if they lose the second Test in Chittagong, they will tumble to sixth on the ICC Test rankings for the first time since the system was introduced. They have much still to play for.

What other bats do we have in the squad? Khawaja is a liability he needs to be dropped.

I think Hilton Cartwright is in the touring squad as a batting all-rounder, but haven’t really been paying that much attention other than watching the game-feed the last few days.

I hope he hasn’t got that attitude. He’s not fit for the job if he does.

Game lost in our first innings, 4/35 or whatever we were.

Concur.

He is a career professional athlete, even if you aren’t being paid you should be ready to take up an offer which means keeping yourself in good nick.

He wouldn’t have to train in the Aussie camp

Saw a stat which discussed the average runs per wicket in Asia in the last 10 years -Australia was a clear last of all test playing nations with 26 runs per wicket - India was on top with 41 runs.

Bring back Watto.

Can’t wait til Australia meet Afghanistan in a Test on a dusty turning track in the Middle East with their leggie Rashid Khan running amok.
