Century to Perry (116) and great support from Haynes (87) have Australia in a good position at 5/340

In the handful of Tests she’s played she averages 60+ with the bat and sub 20 with the ball.

All of the last 2 sessions look being rained off at this point with Australia 5/341. This suits Australia and England would need to do something miraculous now to have any chance of winning the urn. Bookies have them 66/1 to win this match.

The two Australian sides were apparently selected by Haddin and Hick choosing one after the other… 1 side is not like the other!

Aussie women on top in the Ashes test. Perry with the wicket just before lunch after declaring on 420

Perry is just an astonishingly great player, one of the very best ever.

Definitely one of the best Women cricketers I’ve seen

She’s the best allrounder we’ve produced since Keith Miller

it feels like a trap.

get him over to receive the award, and then bam, he magically gets 100 bats thrown at him up on stage.

Our Aussie girls have retained the Ashes. Match drawn at Taunton with Perry finishing 76* in the second dig. She only took the one wicket for the match though, so really needs to pull her finger out in the next match. :grinning:

Aussies 3/21 against the other Aussies.
Warner, Harris and Head all gone cheaply.
Neser 2 wickets.

Now 5/61 just before lunch.

Labuschagne has scored 40 of his team’s 61 runs.

2 wickets each for Bird and Neser

Not a great day for the batsmen, reminding me of the tour of England…

Our bowlers and wicket keepers are all in good form. We should just play our best 11 in the first test ie 7 bowlers, 3 keepers and Mitch Marsh.

Jesus, between both sides the score was 17-201

We are going to get a bunch on nasty seaming wickets after that

Glass half full - our bowlers took 17 wickets for 200 runs.

Glass half empty - It was Siddle, Bird, and Neser that did most of the damage. Starc and Hazlewood probably the worst of the frontline quicks.

Starc’s a concern.

From recollection he was expensive last time around over there with the Duke ball. We simply cannot afford to carry him, especially if our batsmen can barely hit it off the square (unless it’s through slips).
