Especially opening in England, where you’re very likely to get a ball with our name on it, I think it might be more prudent to go on the counter and score some quick early runs potentially throwing them off their lines. And 20 off 20 is better than 5 from 20.

In those conditions, your job is to fight through the first hour. And I didn’t see any real candidates in Warner’s innings to really go after. He was only out there for 5 overs.
20/20 cricket has changed that attitude most people now think if you aren’t 0-50 after 10 overs your openers have failed.

Warner has gotten to where he is because he plays more aggressively than most, I worry that if he tries to reign that in he’ll lose what it is that makes him arguably the best opener in the game.
It’s only his first innings he still has another 9 to prove us doubters wrong.
