Crowing about Justin

Both Stinger (near end of 2nd Qtr??) & Shiel (midway through 3rd Qtr??) did their hammies after being well warmed up.

Put them both down as victims of cold weather, if they did them in the first part of the game then you can blame medical staff for lack of stretching & warming up properly.

Agree. If he canā€™t handle that then his rest last year didnā€™t help him.

What does ā€œa bit backyā€ mean? Fat?

Not sure about the logic there - given only 2 off 44 players did their hamstrings in the ā€˜coldā€™ conditions. In reviewing why these injuries occurred I would like to think our fitness staff are looking beyond climatic conditions.

I would suggest 80% of hammies occur in the first 10 minutes of a game due to lack of stretching & warming up

From what we know about Sheil and how he conditions himself I doubt it would be from a lack of discipline.

This is the first hammy of his career so something else is afoot.

80% in the first 10 minutes? Thatā€™s another big statement and one that Iā€™m certain you would struggle to prove. Other hamstring injuries at Essendon this year off the top of my head are:

-Mutch - yes first 10 minutes
-McKernan - later in the game
-Laverde - second quarter of VFL game

Other hamstring injuries from recent weeks include if the AFL include:
-Tom Rockliff - 3rd quarter
-Kade Simpson - 2nd quarter
-Zac Williams - 2nd quarter

Shiels first makes me wonder about Etihad again.

How are other resident Dome teams stacking up with ST injuries this year??

Top comment of this thread makes me laugh.

No I couldnā€™t be f.ucked

There are a heap of things which are unacceptable and that is just one.

Heā€™s in trouble if something else is a foot. Is his hammie his foot?

Itā€™s almost like we were not fit enough at the start of the year and they have tried to fast track fitness into the group through the season.

I think we have tried to do this beforeā€¦

Not unreasonableā€¦ unless youā€™ve had OP for the past year and youā€™ve just plyed your first game back.

Donā€™t tell me some of our players now have Crows Feet!?!
