Both Stinger (near end of 2nd Qtr??) & Shiel (midway through 3rd Qtr??) did their hammies after being well warmed up.
Put them both down as victims of cold weather, if they did them in the first part of the game then you can blame medical staff for lack of stretching & warming up properly.
Not sure about the logic there - given only 2 off 44 players did their hamstrings in the ācoldā conditions. In reviewing why these injuries occurred I would like to think our fitness staff are looking beyond climatic conditions.
80% in the first 10 minutes? Thatās another big statement and one that Iām certain you would struggle to prove. Other hamstring injuries at Essendon this year off the top of my head are:
-Mutch - yes first 10 minutes
-McKernan - later in the game
-Laverde - second quarter of VFL game
Other hamstring injuries from recent weeks include if the AFL include:
-Tom Rockliff - 3rd quarter
-Kade Simpson - 2nd quarter
-Zac Williams - 2nd quarter
