There’s not one other club in the comp who takes us seriously. We’re soft, mentally fragile and just happy to be in the AFL. The players and the club should be seriously ashamed of themselves for allowing the club to be tarnished in this manner.
…… And an interesting piece of direct, honest feedback from a successful, hard nosed, competitive rival across town. Not to be used as motivation against the Suns (my view), rather as to be taken on board as an opportunity to instigate change.
Agree, and credit to Scott he has highlighted this late in the season and he and the clubs leaders appear committed to fixing it.
Every year the leadership group saying they’ve drawn the line in the sand and will drive change - yet nothing changes.
Interesting to look back on our trade period and see that we didn’t really make any of the “tough” list changes Scott hinted at after the Collingwood loss.
Until Barham overturned the board, they removed the CEO, put in a footy background ceo, an experienced coach and conducted a proper review. Proof is always only in the pudding, but this is a different approach taken to fixing the problem and involved changes to almost all senior positions of the club. It was as close to a clean sweep as a footy club can do.

Essendon are spuds
-
Hardwick rightly pointed out that Cotchin is a ■■■■
-
Hardwick isn’t a good loser and coached a team that always won so his “happy relaxed” vibe is exaggerated…he is also a ■■■■. Just an angry and successful one.
-
Nothing story other than Cotchin sharing it which is weird and reaffirms point 2.
That’s not true though. Richmond were ordinary for a long time under Hardwick. To the point they were looking to sack him at the end of 2016.
Yep.
Started coaching in 2010 and didn’t make finals until 2013. 3 straight Elimination Final losses, two in which they started comfortable favourites in.
They went off the rails in 2016 and lost their final H&A game by 20 goals. They managed to turn it all around in one summer though and 2017 was a winner.
Meh, he’s a grub.
I think people undersell Richmond in Dimma’s earlier years.
In 2009, Richmond came second last and had 5 wins. Dimma started in 2010 and their wins went upwards 6 in 2010, 8 in 2011, 10 in 2012 and 15 in 2013. He had another 15 win season in 2015. I would say that’s hardly average
That actually is average its just that some people still haven’t realised we’ve been well below average.
Calling them spuds is the least offensive thing said about the players in match day threads.
X says hi as a SANFL premiership player, also other relevant footy background, allegedly appointed through an independent process.
Xavier’s may have played SANFL but he wasn’t a ‘football’ CEO. He was a marketer and his passion and innate interest was on the commercial side of the business, “purposeful innovation”.
Vozzo, widely regarded as a shrewd football person whose AFL background is in football and list management, is from a different perspective entirely. I’d say, slightly cheekily, you’d have to drag Vozzo into some of the Marketing & Commercial meetings, especially in relation to the granular aspects of it. I don’t think you could say the same about Xavier who’d have been all across the commercial initiatives, and frankly driving many of them.
I mean, we were sitting with them in 2013 on that ladder. And above them in 2014.
Unless you’re saying we were really great during that period too? I would say average is the correct description of them.
Should be pinned up on the walls at the Hanger. If this doesn’t harden us up nothing will!
No, look at it from the Richmond point of view. Dimma was saying how poor Richmond was on that night.
The spud comment proved to be true by the end of the season.
But ultimately in his heart of hearts, he knew the great Richmond era and his part in it were over.
You and I know that is bullsh*t.
Now you’re just making stuff up.
Where have I ever said that it’s entirely Dodoro’s fault?
just 12 months ago you were arguing that Campbell and The Board were doing a good job, while I wanted them all sacked. Now you’re saying they were the problem.
I blame Dodoro for the quality of the list over the last 20 years, because it has been pathetic. Everything else was the Board and CEO’s fault, which not that long ago you were defending.
Some parallels with Clarko there. I hope they are some of the attributes Brad has.
I was only putting in the bits relevant to his football experience, not suggesting he is a better choice than Vozzo as a lawyer and non football playing background.
I sure hope we’ve got someone decent to do the marketing and revenue streams if Vozzo as CEO won’t have anything to do with that side of the Administration.
