This is great news for the club, those who put money in the pokies need to learn self control.
How has this thread re-started and @Bacchusfox hasnāt put in his two cents yet! Come on son
I wish I owned a heap of pokie machines.
do you see what you did there?
You know I didnāt
You want Collingwood to win the flag?
No, they are drug cheats, not ādrug cheatsā.
proving that ignorance is indeed bliss
2 cents will get you what, one spin?
I put my $100 bucks in the other night, and had a small win.
In any case, I was not going to respond to the moralistic garbage that many post about pokies and gambling. Hope EFC keeps making money out of them and buys more. I support the Club.
And poor social outcomes for those most vulnerable.
A true labor man.
Bacchus and pokies; match made in heaven.
I am not a hypocrite like you.
I just donāt care.

I probably spent a membership at Crown on Tuesday. Still weighing up which one I got more enjoyment out of.
Heās heard that a lot. Just replace āpokiesā with any of the names of his 17 ex-wives
The Melton Country Club I assume
Numerically I am not certain that is correct, it seems too small a number.
Maybe we need to lift our quality of debate on this issue. It is a complex matter that should not be hijacked by my fondness for wasting a few buck in mindless entertainment. And it should not be a moralistic attack on EFC for running a legal business that generates profit for our footy club.
Facts are that a significant number of our community are problem gamblers and some destroy their lives and that of their families. And I would suggest that the gambling industry and government need to do more to support the addicts. Now while I also think that the Melton Club is a great venue and that it does have programs in place for those with a gambling addiction, I will concede that it could do more. I am not sure how serious it is in checking the entry of people into the gambling area and it has rules that may not be always enforced.
However, I would suggest that the whole industry needs to be more serious and adopt regulations like in Europe where no-one enters a Casino without an ID check; and this is not like Crown that inspects the age of entrants, but a real check that logs entry by an official document and hence can exclude those who should not be there.
My beef with all you hypocrites, is that I gamble in a legal manner and I have control of my actions, but you judge me. And I find nothing in your arguments that gives effect to helping anyone. It is another fact that banning anything is problematic, and active help and support is a much better approach. By all means, get your rocks off going after me, but maybe you could do something positive and lobby your local MP for more enforcement of regulations.
