Domestic Violence

What??

its only a crime after you do it.

Muslim culture in honour killings, will increase if more come here?..

Maybe?
I mean, statistically probably?
#notallmuslims

Edit: I mean, having said that, from my very sheltered experience and knowledge it seems as much if not more an Indian caste/technically Hindu issue as Islam, but still…statistically probably?

I’m not going to go all out on, men do better, to have people protective of abhorrent other ‘cultural differences.’

Edit: edit: I mean, we have our issues in this specifically Australian western society, but We Do Not pretend that this ■■■■ is ever ‘noble.’
Let’s not pretend that there aren’t cultures that do.

We’ve had alcohol prohibited (US)
Gambling heavily restricted- SP bookies, backstreet casinos

Add in prostitution, shylocking

Doesn’t work and leads to criminals running them with worse outcomes

Correct.

There is a higher probability.

Respectfully disagree but I’d like to hear more on this. How do jokes about violence towards women normalise it?

As for the free speech thing, there’s nothing wrong with consequences for saying lousy things. What those consequences are and who they come from is the issue. Social consequence are perfectly fine.

if youre that daft then trying to explain it to you is pointless

The issue is when there is no consequence.
When…sigh sorry to trigger some people here, but when hate speech is accepted then hate actions are accepted.

What does she expect?
She was asking for it.
How did she even get that job, eh?
She shouldn’t have been drinking.

All of this stuff has to go.
All of it.

It’s an escape clause for men.
It says ‘rape wasn’t actually my fault.’
Yeah, it was. It is.
We need to shut this stuff down.

Edit: imagine those lines being trotted out for male on male rape.
I feel like suddenly they’re not okay.

Interesting take coming from the bloke who thinks;

Not sure how you reached that conclusion to be honest.

TBF there are endless jokes about men being raped in prison.

“Don’t drop the soap.”

The idea of cancelling someone because they said something bad in the past is a social consequence of their actions.

You said these consequences are fine. But you also think they are absurd garbage. So you’re either a hypocrite or a cafeteria moraliser

And they’re not okay either.
Actually I got blocked from Mama Mia for saying so.

At the risk of repeating myself, I am far more interested in the perpetual perpetrators than the victims.
Male on male violence is probably as under-reported now as…well, choose your poison.
It certainly used to go back to primary school.
I hope it’s better now, I really do

Edit: sorry for the edit after the like.

Agree with a lot of that but it went well off track and didnt really address the question in any detail. Not trying to be a smart alec. How do jokes about violence towards women normalise it?

Why are racist jokes generally frowned upon??

Pls nobody take it

Why joke about violence towards women?

Lol are you serious?

The reason jokes against women normalise violence is the same reasons we frown on racist jokes. It’s very simple!!

If you think racist jokes aren’t ok then jokes about violence against women aren’t ok either
