Yeah, I’m avoiding that one.
Humanity isn’t cooked. This type of crime rarely happens today. 100 years ago, this would happen relatively regularly. What’s changed is the circumstances that cause this type of behaviour, hence why it’s so rare nowadays. In another 100 years, the urge to commit such a crime may not exist as it does today which most would agree is a good thing.
Are things perfect? No. Are things better than they were? Absolutely. Will things ever be perfect? Probably not but we’re collectively headed in the right direction, inspite of what happened to this family.

Nextflix has a 4 part mini series on the bungled police investigation into the Yorkshire Ripper case in the 1970’s - 1990’s. What jumps out of the program time and again is the different attitudes to domestic violence in England and how they change over time.
Well worth a look.

coroner confirmed that the child found in a barrel was shot beforehand as well.

I struggle to understand how a man, any man, but particularly a father and a husband could do this. How do things get so bad, so quickly, to become so desperate that they see no other way out. It defies logical comprehension, l am a total loss, and not for the first time, but every time l hear of such a tragedy.
A civilised society shouldn’t need it but gee it’s hard to find the arguments against it at the moment
In cases as clear cut as this just put a bullet in them and save the tax payers the prison bill

I’ve always thought you lock them in a room covered in pictures of the victims of their crimes and a knife. See how long they last until they end themselves.

A lot of people are tricked by movies in thinking prison is the worst thing in the world. It’s not.
A lot of these guys go in there, have 3x meals a day, a bed, bit of tv, books, bit of chat. They acclimatise to prison.
The “They will get raped to death” theory is very very very naive.
If they are a narcissist and/or sociopath it won’t induce the emotional response you’re seeking.

If only that 81% was successful at killing themselves BEFORE they attacked the innocent members of their families.
