I’m lead to believe it caused some commotion in the Avalon air traffic control station

It was a good showing last night. The practice games are an improvement on last year.

But the bigger question is how we finish the season…… not how we are going at the start of the season.

I’m not getting carried away until this club can finish a season off strong.

We won’t really know for sure until round 20.

I think it’s pretty clear we’re trying to improve front half ball use by keeping Durham, Martin, Merrett and Perkins in the front half more.

And I think adding in prior and full seasons from Reid and Ridley (fingers crossed) is a huge improvement on the ball use in our backline last year.

There’s a ways to go obviously and there’s still several panic merchant butchers out there but hopefully some group confidence and more games will see that improve a fair bit further.

The Hobbs set shot shank, some duursma misses and the Jones dab on the wing to gresh particularly ■■■■■■ me off but the ball movement was generally more fluid than we saw last year

Exactly.

That’s not being pessimistic.

That’s reality.

Nah, Cripps clearly deserved the 3 votes from last night’s game.

Umpires likely would have went, its a midfielders award these days.

Martin, Merrett, Kako

It’s bloody brilliant we have a footballer on our list (Martin) who I think could have consistent games to challenge ZMerrett as BOG

Theres jokes about guys like Cripps carrying Carlton.

Zachs shoulders must be bloody tired from carrying us.

Ridley is so so important.

He reads the play so well and was quite often “just there” to clean up and move the ball out of the defensive 50. Looks like the general we have been craving. His lack of game time over the past 2 years is so understated. Actually quite surprised with his burst of pace aswell!

Yeah we didn’t see Ridley back to his best last year. Hopefully this year!!

Assume because he’s had a limited preseason

I love Jakey Stringer and 2MP.

But I’m also loving what Scott has our forward line looking like at the moment in 2025

I really hope he finds a spot back in the side for Wright. Really love the big fella and he kicks the ball so cleanly.

I think we say that second bit too. But who cares, youth will have its fling, lid off!

The game has moved on from immobile forwards.
Wrights days are numbered, but he is decent to have in reserve.

Draper wont need to kick many goals if he gets multiple goal assists.
Nice to see Bryan hit the scoreboard too.

I was worried about how we would score.

The classy ball movement from martin and Zerrett and Langford hitting targets inside 50 was good. Caddys run and Jump, and Draper creating a contest when we bomb in a long ball with Kako there for the crumbs. Gresham defensively looked great too. Jones pushing forward worked well too, just needs to hit the scoreboard.

One of the commentators said he is the hardest working forward atm in the league.

depending on matchups is reid a walkup start for the opening game? prior was really good and redman wil be back in the side. reid could be a good matchup for mac andrew.

Would love a second really zippy small forward.
Hopefully ADJ (gets over his injury quickly) or Unwin can become this and get small quality game time before the season is over.
If not, this would be a very high priority for me at this years Draft.

I would imagine so, as long as he survives training.
