Dons v Cats - TUES 25th 7.10pm @ the Cattery

Yeah watched enough to see he was struggling to get into the game and was unusually fumbly. He’s a quality player, I’m putting it down to rust and he will be better for the time on ground.

I like that Tsatas had a better mix of kick to handball. I’m not happy when he has twice as many handballs as kicks, if it’s roughly even he’s much more effective for the team. He’s always going to be a handball distributor as a preference, but he needs to look up more and get a bit more creative.

There will be ups and downs with the young forwards. That’s when Langford’s experience will come to the fore. He still demands a good defender and can decoy when Caddy is playing well. They are never all going to be dominant in every game. Great to finally have more than one option up forward.

They were already doing this a couple of weeks ago at training. Last night was good prep though coz it got humid and sweaty late in the game and sherrin like to manufacture their footies to be like a soap sud as soon as they get a drop off moisture on them.

Definitely not his best game but he did not stop working hard all night. That’s the mindset of a good player, and one that seems to be slowly creeping into the whole team.

Nabs rising star yes.

The guys need to play TMP into the gc game. Get the clearance kick to him. TMP marks it 40 out slots the 1st goal. Gets eveyones confidence up and running.

Providing the big guys up forward can create a contest, bombing the ball long i50 will create legitimate chaos for opposition defenders… the movement, fluidity, unpredictability, the talent will be fun to watch… thank fark for Kako and Caddy.

And the varied, dynamic, aggressive midfield(!) provides legitimate depth that should keep the engine room humming throughout the season.

Defence looks solid. Liked how the forwards peeled back late in the game to offer support.

The switch of play from the backline… expansive, with the ball in constant motion. To date, the intent to move the ball with speed is working.

Skill errors continue to gift the opposition goals but the team fight hard to get the ball back.

The second coming of the “Edge” is here! Like the last 2 seasons, feels like early season form will be solid. Early days I know, but the winter months will show how much the team have progressed.

Yeah I’m not sure spot on is correct. A couple of his kicks i50 under little pressure were shithouse! Overall though Shiel at half back works

So TMP played in the reserves game too.
Ok.

What’s happened to el hawli? He went from dominating the pre season, to being quite in intra clubs, then getting dropped to the vfl this week and not even being mentioned in the vfl match report… It’s disappointing, he has all the tools you want in an afl player.

The other two players who showed some glaring moments of ineptness were the McGrath fumbled bounce and fumbling in defence and the shocking Oobotf kicks by Duursma.

I will forgive Duursma as he was completely cooked, and the Geelong ground is prone to oof because of the skinny wings. Mr Magoo on the other hand does those stuff ups just too often.

Ridley has always been fast. The thing about his speed and agility means that despite his height he can play fairly small. It’s lets us try play a backline that looks too tall.

Looking at the list, I’d expect the top 22 of the 26 listed to be selected plus Redman.

Would anyone else be prepared, rather than drop Roberts for Redman, to push Roberts to the wing and drop Duursma?

I mean we are either picking on form or we’re not, and Duursma was not good. I really worry about him long term as his decision making was his issue at Port and it keeps letting him down with us. I know he’s a favourite on here because he has a crack.

When I lived in Ormond, I had a neighbour who was senior in the Anatomy Department at Melbourne Uni. Turned up at a Melbourne game against us one day, and there he was wearing a sleeveless Dees jumper over a long-sleeve shirt.

He’d have been 50 plus.

So based on pre season hype in this years draft we’re going to end up with picks 17 and 18. Good one Rosa :+1::face_with_diagonal_mouth:

How does he go on slippery grounds?
