Dons v Dogs - Whitten oval SAT 15th

Yeah but to get blown away in a practice match that dosent look good imo

I don’t know, it felt to me like being blown away by 50+ points in the preseason ended up being pretty representative of how our year turned out.

Mate, the Saints blew us away last year, yet we took the 4 points 4 weeks later.

I’m looking forward to be outraged as per every other year.

You might be disappointed then. Just be ready to wait for the second game for some serious competitiveness Nino.

Who cares. Wait for the second game to start making judgements.

Speaking of the Saints i watched the last qrt of that game just before going to miss Stringer kicks that massive bomb from the boundary which sparked the team into action.

Who will step up this year and be that star when a game is tight

Someone else… maybe

Blitz will lose its mind if Kako is that player

We’re not likely to replace Stringer’s contributions fully this year, and that’s okay.

Highly unlikely we are a Finals side with or without Stringer.
Now we can start to build some cohesion with a new group.

Kako

I also think with Martin moved forward/midfield we might see more long goals from Red dog

Essendon - Freo it was Durham kicking the winning point.
He also scored winning goal in that dream time game.

I’m afraid I must insist. You see, my wife, she has been most vocal on the subject of the team. "Where’s the team? “When are you going to get the team?” “Why aren’t you getting the team now?” And so on. So please, the team.

Nino I’m not sure how to break the news to you but we are going to be no good this year.

If we can get through a decent chunk of the year with Reid, Tsatas, and Caddy playing well it’s a win.

If we lose we’ll get a good two weeks of debate about if the result is meaningless or it’s a perfect encapsulation of everything that is wrong with the club. One side of the argument will say it’s just preseason and share examples of other clubs or seasons where a preseason result didn’t reflect how the year went. Someone will say our skills looked b grade at best. In reply there will be a response about that’s to be expected - intensity and skill level rarely matches the real deal. Someone else will counter with “that’s exactly what’s been wrong with the club over the last 20+ years”. There will be panic over a minor injury.

Unfortunately, Football isn’t an exact science, so it’s impossible to to know exactly how many goals Jake Stringer kicked for Essendon in 2024
