Dons v Saints - Sunday 5th July: 3.15 game @ Marvel [spec]

OUT: Caldwell, Blaki
IN: SEH, Gresham

Prior Jones McGrath
Ridley Reid Farrow
Merrett Robey Duursma
Durham Caddy Gresham
Perkins McKay El-Achkar

Bryan Setters Sharp

Bench: Parish ADW Kako SEH Redman

If Redman is out injured than I’d bring Kondo in

Hard to get enthused about this match - Lots of players seemingly going through the motions and we dont have a lot of options to bring in - particularly up forward. Saints will win by lots…

It would be nice to get a glimpse of Artemis this week. Get some excitement in with a debutant to give the fans something to look forward to. Has had a couple of runs now.

The biggest IN we could have this week is an increase in intensity, pressure on the ball carrier, and a more attacking system where the players have a dip. Even if it doesnt work sometimes, keep having a crack, break the lines.

It won’t happen (and hoping it doesn’t for #1 sake) …

But this is the exact sort of game and ‘meh’ opposition that we will pull something out of nowhere for that consolation second half of the season win that ■■■■■ up our #1 chances.

We should get Johnson, Roberts & 2MP back over the next couple of weeks - but it’s hard to see where another win is coming from before the end of the season…We have GWS & Port at Marvel -they are the only possible chances I reckon but are still pretty unlikely and we will start big underdogs in both of those (and all our remaining games)!

Out: Caldwell Parish McGrath Ridley Merrett Perkins Blakiston

i think we only win another game or two dependant on if richmond wins another game or two.

how the ■■■■ we are, or were something like 9% points ahead of them still is a laugh.

even then, I can’t see us winning another game, sure better intensity would help, but again they simply have NFI how to defend, or how to move the ball forward.
people reckon we are tanking, to tank you’d have to first be good enough to win games, then actively choose not to via subtle acts that lead losing.
I think it was caldwall missed a hand ball to a target a meter away, that’s not a choice, they just arent’ very good, collectively.

No more Jones and Perkins thanks. Back to the VFL for you pair. And just play Merrett on ball and be done with it I say. Durham and Caldwell can go through the CBAs and Robey also should get some time in there too.

BTW, Kako looked a bit underdone against Norf. So if he needs a week in the 2s to get back a bit more sharpness then so be it .. straight swap with Gresham who I’m sure is dead keen to pull out a blinder over his ol’ mates.

Keep Gresham as far away from the team as possible.

Play Harry back and Cox forward

Although if they are testing Jones as a back, no point doing it for one week and one week only.

Im playing against oak park at 11:50am which should finish about 2pm as its their ‘yearly premier game’ on a sunday, can guarantee itll be better than this afl game

Probably should just let us play at marvel instead

The last time I commented this early in a thread, the strait of Hormuz was open.

Dread St Kilda matches - need the win to shove it up my obnoxious extended family.

My only real interest in this game is whether Wanganeen-Milera turns it on or not.

Be worth watching if he does, boring if not.

What an end to this season that’s coming up

It feels totally overwhelming

Players barely going thru the motions waiting to exit the club

All Opponents are in finals and flag contention just waiting to sharpen their skills and systems.

One win in over 40 games and no coach. Lots of learnings coming up!

I’m amazed that anyone actually gives a crap about who’s in or out right now.

They appeared to give up on that idea after half time

Agree. Except I want Gerryen to get a good run at it for a while. Fwd Ruck. I can’t bare the thought of another P Voss.

Please don’t mention Voss. Whenever I watch Freo play I shudder.

A smart arse aggressive marking goal kicker who fends off players as if they’re under 17s!! And his other endearing quality? Plays for keeps and celebrates like he has won Tattslotto!! We couldn’t possibly have KEPT such a rare beast on our list. Much better to persevere with clueless timid nice players who week after week give you sweet FA

With a bit of luck Voss will make history with Freo in September

I’d also give him the freedom to play his own game within reason. That way he can show his talent.
