Dons v Saints - Sunday 5th July: 3.15 game @ Marvel [spec]

It’s grim.

I don’t think I could sit through a live game.

Lower attendance sends a message to the club (and AFL).

Lower attendance isn’t great for the young players.

What a mess.

It will be rush 2mp back into the side and out HUSS and you all will like it

Honestly Voss would be close to useless in this side if he played. His strengths are perfect for Freo’s system. Not ours

At least you would see someone who cared and fought for the jumper.

Imagine the chest bumps between Robey and Caddy.

Your dreaming if you don’t think he would add much.

VOSS helps with the belief of the players on field.

What possible reason do Saints fans have to be obnoxious?

His energy is great and that would add to the group for sure. His not naturally a great footballer though and needs a specific role and precise delivery as he struggles to take contested marks.

We have been crying out for an enforcer, or jsut someone to stick up to the maynards of the competition.

Having a angry brute crashing packs, creating space / blocking for caddy and also able to restrict the oppositions best defenders wouldn’t be good for Caddy or the side. Doubftful.

Agree he likely doesn’t kick 6 against the pies, but also maybe he does.

Some of your comments about him this year are completely dismissive and you went way too early.

Of course any forward will look and play better in a side that’s on top of the ladder. Everyone understands that.

I saw something yesterday during the game against the Suns that Voss is the number one rated key forward in the competition since round 10.

Is he the best key forward in the comp? Of course not, but you don’t do that unless you are a decent player.

He’s on track to kick another 40-50 goals this year.

Your content downplaying his abilities and talking about it being ok cos we got Edwards just smacks of trying to cope.

Yes, it’s done and can’t be undone. But it was shocking list management and a poor reflection on the club not being able to harness a player’s talents that we did the hard work of in identifying in the first place.

Every week, it’s the same ins and outs.

It doesn’t really matter, we are rubbish regardless of who comes back in.

Tsatas, Kondo and Gresham all played well in the VFL, just reward that.

I considered dropping kako too, but he will be better for the run.

Plus also option of playing 3 small forwards.

Prior to the Bye, I was enjoying watching the kids have a crack.

But watching Parish, McGrath and Caldwell come into the team….. and add their passenger performances with Ridley, Redman and Merrett.

It was honestly horrible to watch. I want to watch the kids show spirit and dare…. I don’t want to watch grifter senior players counting down the days until they get traded.

Bring the kids in, so we can have a little bit of joy this season.

Why in the ■■■■■■■ world are people wanting Gresham back in?

‘Close to useless’!!!???

Extraordinary.

We have at least 15 maybe 20 players that show no aggression or gut busting determination to tackle and pressure opponents on match day and still get a game.

Sure, he isn’t going to kick as many goals as he has at Freo but I would gladly have him on our list any day of the week patrolling our forward line and making defenders think twice about everything.

If Gresham comes in, there is no f*cking chance I’m watching the game.

Gresham should not play again. We don’t want to trigger any contract extensions.

I’d put Merret in the forward pocket rotating with
Kako whilst he gets a few CBAs.
I’d drop Harry Jones, play McKay forward.

Name Cox and leave him on the wing.

Redman leaves a big hole.

Otherwise leave as is. We had a big number of ins this week- they will be better for the run.

Don’t know how our back 6 shapes up.

Kondo?

Backs: McGrath, Kondo, Reid,Ridley, Prior, Farrow?

Mids: Caldwell, Durham, Sharp, Robey, Bryan, Kako/Merret rotation.

Forwards: Caddy, ADW, McKay, Huss, Duursma and other side of the Kako/Merret rotation.

God we gotta take HVH at the draft.

Trade Bryan, get Witts, Witts and 2MP ruck next season. Develop HVH.

I agree we should have played him in the seniors to see how he went. I also note he had some growing up to do (as he has pointed out himself, I might add). So, the delisting I sense matured him as he realised he needed to if he wanted to have a career. I am certainly not talking him down because we got Edwards? We need some help up forward yes but overall, we need however a system and midfield that is 10 x better than what we have today. I wouldn’t wish being a forward on my worst enemies at this club.

Realistically we have 12-14 that are underperforming and their spot is questionable.

A few ins and outs for more of the same will make little to no difference.

With that said….

Out: Jones, Redman

In: El-Hawli, Kondo

If we actually had AFL calibre replacements I would say out: Perkins, Blakiston, El-Achkar (purely because of fitness level and he would not be getting a game at any other club right now with his level of fitness)

End of year out:

Merrett, Ridley, Parish - trade

Guelfi, Perkins, Gresham, Unwin - delist

Our list is that grim there’s probably another 12 you can mount a case they should be moved on

A 3 prong forwardline of May (Treacy), Caddy (Amiss) and Voss would have worked.

I’m worried that Edwards days are numbered. McMahon is gone, Jones should be gone.

There is room for a walter…..he kicked 2 out of the Suns 3 goals yesterday.
