Updated with the draft order as it stands. As in the last couple of years I’ll try to keep it up to date as trades happen (yes, the AFL site has a trade tracker, as do all the newspapers, but I like tracking it myself too).

@SplitRound

I like you way better than the AFL. I suspect you understand the rules better than the AFL as well. I’ll be checking with you.

Great job.

Adjusted with the Rockliff compensation pick (18), removed the Trengove compensation pick.

Port players have been drinking their own bath water for years so drinking Rocky’s urine is just natural progression

Updated with Lever deal (adelaide get 10 + melbourne’s 2018 1st and 4th, melbourne get 35 + adelaide’s 2018 3rd)

Essendon: Devon Smith, 24, GWS 2018 2nd round pick.
GWS: Pick 11, ESS 2018 3rd round pick

Updated with the Smith trade. Was waiting for the official announcement rather than he TR “breaking” announcement

strategy is clear keep r1&2 18 picks at all cost and use 2017 picks plus 3rd rd 18 pick to get 3S’s

you’re going to need to add a 2018 draft picks section to the OP

There you go

So fast!! Thanks.

ABC News at 11am were reporting done deal Lever to Melbourne for Dees’ first round picks in 2017 and 2018.

Smith deal was the one I was keenest on.

Fills our biggest need (out of the three) and keeps good faith with GWS. Could be useful, that good faith.

You can’t just keep hanging on, hoping for something better to pop up.

I reckon this will be a good thing in the coming years, their superstars are going to be demanding HUGE contracts in the next few years, might be a good time to pounce on one of them, and having ‘helped’ gws with mutually beneficial trades (stewart/ smith) in availing them of some more cap space and improving out list, as well as their already ongoing want to deal with us (not matching mutch) i think it could be a great relationship to maintain coming up in 2-3 years time.

Jarman Impey and pick 67 to hawthorn
Picks 33 and 61 to port

Done deal

EDIT: Hawks no picks in first 2 rounds of draft 2 years running … isn’t that against the trade rules?

They’ll still manage to pick up 3 good players in trades with no picks though.

Updated with the Impey deal (as above plus a future 4th round going to port)

Hawks copied our Darcy Parish re-signing.
