Drinking Spirits

Using vodka requires a bit more patience doesn’t it?

I did it once and it took about 2 weeks from memory. But it is super easy to do. Peel lemons. Cover rind in vodka. Let sit. Add sugar syrup.

Chill and drink.

Yeah I’ve always found it hard to just find a lemon tree(not having my own). Ie lemons that haven’t been waxed like in the store.

Do you know if it works with limes?

Oh, yeah that’s true.

I only did it because my neighbours have a lemon tree and palmed off a stack one year.

I think so. My understanding is that in theory it should work with any citrus.

Yeah cheers. With the 95% stuff I know you can make it a lot quicker and you don’t need as much.(add more water at the end)

I’m pretty sure thats the brand that do a Chili Margarita. I tried them at a trade show last year - worth a sip. Not sure you’d want to drink a 6 pack of them but a good starter.

Singleton 12 yo. Currently 69$ @ liquor legends.
I enjoyed 2 shots straight.
Nice hints of citrus, lime & melon/ honey
After taste is smooth caramel with hints of smoke. It is quite nice

Not strictly related to the thread topic but if you get the opportunity to have a fire in the backyard, whisky barrel staves are about the best bit of timber you could burn. The aroma is delightful, and the burn hot and clean, throwing off plenty of heat.

Whisky is (in universe) “the eleventh most disgusting thing ever invented”.

Well, don’t be a tease. What are the top ten?

The Tardis bottle could still look nice as a ornament.
Or could fill it with another spirit.

This was very drinkable.
About $240 a bottle, makes it a ‘no’. But if someone else is paying…

I like scotch; make bourbon #10.
