How on earth would that be enforceable?

Long service leave is state by state btw. In Vic the answer is no but encourage them to read everything they can, and if they need proper advice, contact FWA or the relevant state one.

Might’ve misread it or I mis wrote (CBF going back for a look)

But it’s not uncommon to have notice periods above the standard 4 weeks.

Mine is 3 months, just if I want to resign, or they want to sack me (termination is immediate).

But how’s it actually work?

ā€œI’m leaving, got a new starting job in 4 weeksā€

What does ACME Inc do?

ā€œNo, not allowed, come in anyway, pretty pleaseā€?

It might be that gardeners leave situation.

Me ā€˜I have a new job, I’m giving you 3 months notice, as per my contract’

ACME ā€˜ok, you can train your replacement for the next 3 months’

In the words of the inimitable Nick Lowe …

"I’m giving you my notice and this is how it plays,
In two weeks time you will notice I’ve been gone for 14 days"

what brain injury do you need to be an umpire?

You need to be from the Western Suburbs

You need to have an unwavering dedication to the Pope AwFL’s match-fixing directions.

A house in my neighbourhood is for sale - the agent has arranged aerial drone photos that include several backyards - including mine.

Anyone know if this is privacy breach and if the neighbouring backyards should be blurred out?

I’ve reached out to Realestate.com.au & Domain and waiting for a response.

Maybe if you were rocking out in the traditional way in your backyard.

Forgot to mention that I have called the agent selling the property - he said he’d contact the third party drone photographer and find out - I’m not confident they’ll bother to do anything

Weekend and public holiday surcharges are now miraculously in most food and beverage outlets.

Whilst I’d rather pay less, I presume it goes to paying for the staff and keeping the place open.

However, is there any legal obligation to advertise it as ā€˜inclusive’ in the price, and not just a handwritten note on a napkin or brown paper bag?

Shopkeepers can’t advertise prices and add GST or other taxes at the til (like they do in the US) so why are they allowed to advertise a price then add arbitrary surcharges.

Yeah. I dont know why they dont just build it into their advertised prices. Then staff wouldnt have to deal with customers who complain about it . Would be a non issue. Same with surcharges for using eftpos/credit card. Just add it to everyday prices. Being open on PH and weekends is just a cost of running the business. Retail etc dont charge extra on those days.

Then you have different prices for different people. Some pay cash, some use different credit cards with different surcharges.

I simply don’t see the issue. Surcharges apply on public holidays.
