Dumb Questions Amnesty

Appreciate it thank you. I think you need a companion card to come along with which she won’t need. Just a spot she can get in and out of. Cheers

I don’t want to call Chris Brown doctor if he’s not doctoring. Am I churlish?

What’s a standard size for a grommet you’d see on a computer desk?

60mm but there are other sizes. You can get 60mm at Bunnings

Going to print, no need for bunnings.

I need to reduce a 5v power supply to 1.5v using a resistor. What resistor do i need?

Odd.

A transistor would be a better shout. The right power supply an even better one.

Ok, I know there’s a reason beyond government incompetence.

It’s GF day. And at 7.30pm I have to sit and wait in the cold for 25 minutes for a train headed towards the south east.

Please explain.

Hmm usually every 20mins at this hour

IDGAF

When the state’s third biggest sporting event is on (grand prix and AO), put more fkn trains on you fkn pack of imbeciles.

I hate waiting when I shouldn’t have to. I hate the cold. I hate waiting when I shouldn’t have to in the cold.

Sort it out, you horrible jerks

Why are motorbikes so much louder than cars, even though the engine is so much smaller?

Could they make motoerbikes quieter without too much added size/cost?

I don’t mind, it just seems like they’re crazy loud for their size, and many cars are pretty quiet.

If I had a dollar for every woman that found me unattractive, would women find me attractive?

It is a weight performance issue, although many are way noisier than they should be. How quiet are the Supercars running around the track?

Some bike riders like to think that generating a bit of noise makes them safer and more visible in traffic, but more noise without a properly designed pipe doesn’t always mean more power, especially if air can’t get in the other end.

Change career to a police officer

Too fat, unfit and old for that.

Not many. You can generally defer it but they come back to you. I’ve been called 3 or 4 times. Sat on a week long trial once. The last time I got called, I tried to defer it again after being allowed to defer twice, but they would not let me. They said I would basically have to argue it with a judge if I got selected. So at best that meant a full day sitting around waiting. Turns out I did get called from the pool at the very end of when they could do it, and did ask to be excused. Three others had tried to be excused, including to attend already paid for courses and similar legitimate-sounding matters. The judge refused all of those requests. The only reason mine was accepted was that I was required to an interstate meeting where I literally could not appoint a delegate because I was the only person who able to provide advice for the very specific purpose of the meeting. The judge was incredibly reluctant and said that it was a travesty that he had no choice but to let me be excused in that instance! I don’t know if they are still operating the same way, this was about six or seven years ago I think? If they are, good luck!

Deferring is the best option for now. Will give it a go. Thanks!
