I can’t stand stand Chisel or Powderfinger so I guess that’s un-Australian?
Ehhhhhhh…
People’s opinion of Chisel is kinda like Prince for me.
It’s fine not to be a fan, but if you don’t like One of their songs at least a little bit, I’m giving you my dubious face.
Who do you like?
Do you like this track: https://youtu.be/lelsyP9qL2I?si=E_3L5c6hFEDyCRyf
Adore it.
‘Why’d you wear your sneakers!?!’
Love the Last Stand…I can feel the ■■■■■ flow, steroids to ease my mind….version, too.
Also love Tex, Don and Charlie.
Never got into Catfish.
I secretly despise Barnes for writing You Got Nothing I Want and then making us like US country without us noticing.
I wish he’d joined Van Halen.
Not a fan. But appreciate the good faith response. I listened to it.
lol.
Why wouldn’t I?
I prefer the Wendy Matthews version, but…Don Walker is a hell of a songwriter, and this proves that Barnes could still actually sing if he wanted to.
I like a lot of different music and I do love Aussie music just not a fan of the two I mentioned.
Majority of the week I listen to EDM but on the weekend if I’m just relaxing I’ll go through my library and I’m a huge Beatles and Pink Floyd fan so they get a good going over.
I still try to get along to concerts and gigs especially if a good one is in town.
I’ll go and see Iron Maiden and Megadeth when they tour
I’ve been letting some Beatles back into light rotation.
Something, Come Together, Here Comes The Sun, Because.
Don’t abuse my good faith
Well, there’s your problem ![]()
Powderfinger not so much, but Chisel !!!
Guess you had to be at the Star Hotel on 19 September 1979. to really appreciate Chisel and it’s part in our history. More important than Captain Cook!
I’m not of that vintage so no I wasn’t there.
Maybe they were great live but I just can’t get into them.
In my car the radio is locked on to one station only and they would never play them but if the wife is driving in her car and Chisel comes on the station gets changed immediately.
That night in 1979 was at the Star Hotel in Newcastle and I was a young sales rep doing the Hunter Valley customers and staying in Newcastle. The pub was not that large and a dump, but popular for music and the band playing was the Heroes who were a local group. For some silly reason the police decided that it was the night they clamped down on drinking in the street outside the pub. I just happened to be there with 400 drunks who took about 60 cops on. The drunks won, but the Hotel stilled closed after that night. Nightlight was two cops locking themselves in a police wagon, and some in the crowd flipped it over on this roof. Then it was set on fire, police got rescued and we watched the police back off and a police car burn away.
That is what Chisel wrote the song about. They never played at the Star but I watched dozens of times in Melbourne and in Adelaide. Great live band.
One of the best during their heydays.
How do I spin it to blame Brad for the stupid round 0 malarkey?
So your wife is driving and you determine what she has to listen to?
