Not everything needs to be a bargain
Annoying that Trade Radio is talking up the doggies
Yep exactly
We will have more than $1m of cap space leading into next year
The cap rules at the moment state that if you donât pay the full cap in one year you can double the amount you spend in the next year
So $1m saved means $2m available to throw around next year
Yep, weâll clean out some more useless players next year and pick up a big fish
Imagine being DunkleyâŚ
you tell your club you want to leave because youâre not getting midfield time. Your club refuses to trade you and then goes and gets Treloar who will be another mid you have to battle to get time.
And wonât get the offer that Essendon have at the dogs
Doggies stuffed up trade period could have addressed problems. not sure how adding another mid helps.
we might need to throw money at another dogs mid. Riley west.
his dad should have played here anyway if he lived on the essendon side of the road.
interesting what we do with our picks now.
Why not? they did pretty damn well for themselves. Theyâll get JUH for a song, Treloar is a good player and they paid nothing for him and the Pies will help them out on his salary. Theyâll certainly have problems keeping all their inside mids happy and in the rotation, but I suspect they donât care too much, theyâll improve their list massively over this offseason.
I have no damn idea how theyâre managing to stay under their salary cap, mind you.
Dunkley coming to us was always something that was in the Dogs power to control, and paying two top 10 picks was overs, so Iâm glad we didnât do it. We didnât get what we wanted, but we didnât sell the farm either.
I feel for Dunks. Agent made it public knowledge he wanted a trade. Leaks came out about him in the media. End of day we couldnât get the deal done when he wanted to join the footy club.
I value a 23 year old gun midfielder. More-so then 2 top 10 picks which are very hit and miss (Parish & Francis)
His agent of a â â â â
I donât want us targeting contracted players ever again
I do but without DoDo
On a better note. Collingwood
Pick up his brother and rejoin this circus next yearâŚ
Bont will demand huge money, they may be more willing to part with him then.
Our offer was more than fair
The media are going to hound us (again) for this one.
How many times will we hear âwhen you get a contracted opposition player to publicly commit to you, you get the deal doneâ.
Or âIf I was a contracted player and Essendon are coming to me offering midfield time and big money, Iâm thinking twice after what happened to Dunkleyâ
And of course, the classic âEssendon need a big bodied midâ
Oh no, not the media!
Will we still draft his brother?
Do we actually know what our offer was?
Realistically if Pickers wanted to get him to the club then he had to go harder through the media
Party culture, etc.
