Our list team know how to manage the cap, and the space isnât there simply because weâve had a few retirements this year.
Im sure this will shock people, but like most clubs, we actually have a plan when it comes to how we manage our list.
This extends to planning for the likelihood that players in certain demographics will retire, expecting that some of our players will actually be deserving of more coin and will receive large offers from other clubs, and ensuring that we monitor the contract status of every quality player in the comp to ensure that we factor in when they may become available and what it may take cap wise to ensure we are in the conversation.
