A few months ago I went back over Rutten’s record…… it actually isn’t that bad.
If there hadn’t been a Board spill, he wouldn’t have been sacked.

I do know that I would be very reluctant to vote for an ex player who doesn’t have any board level skills.
There is truth to the idea that you let the agents of change have some stability afterwards, even if it seems like hypocrisy.
We should’ve kept Knights (change agent) for longer before shortcutting to Hird (instability ensued)
We should’ve kept Rudd (change agent) for longer before shortcutting to Gillard (instability ensued)
In both cases the change agents made mistakes, but didn’t get a substantial chance to change/improve. (I’m no big Ruddite, btw.)
Get the old guard out, but don’t turn it all to quicksand…

Don’t worry everyone, Barham is proud that the leaking has stopped under his leadership, even though it was probably him and his faction doing the leaking so of course the leaking stopped once their coup was successful.

Yet no previous President had the guts to even try to get rid of him. Sure it took longer than we hoped but he also cleaned out the CEO. Both required payouts (which others might have decided was too hard to action financially)
