EFC clothing discussions (2019 onwards)

I found it funny that this advert was in the Under Armour thread.

Yep, surely we can come up with a better clash jumper

Where do/will UA manufacture their AFL merchandise?

When I first heard the name 4 days ago, I thought “under armour” was just an aka for a chastity belt.

You’d never heard of UA until 4 days ago???

Yep, the changing landscape of sports apparel. Hard to keep up with.
Does this mean I have to throw out the EFC jumper that Nubrik made?

See, I’m telling you, it’s not what you search, it’s what people are typing in a thread.

That’s why I keep getting the ‘4 hour stiffy’ adds.

I’m blaming @premature_rookie_ele

What ads do you get?

Interesting convo on the weekend with an acquaintance who works in this industry for a rival company who used to be our apparel partner a while ago. He says ISC isn’t going bust but rather wanted out of our arrangement. It would seem the projections discussed before signing the deal didn’t get close to eventuating hence the “mutual parting”. ISC have not only retained Collingwood, Port, Sydney, West Coast, Fremantle & Adelaide but have signed new partnerships with Gold Coast and St Kilda for the future.

So were those projections discussed not eventuating due to ISC or EFC?

too much love of the NUBRIK?

Not sure but ISC “allegedly” didn’t see an economic benefit in producing the quantity of our gear only for it to get to clearance.

It towards the ends of adidas that I think we topped the league for jumper sales. Maybe we gave them that figure, without thinking that people aren’t going to fork out more than $100 every single year for a jumper.

Bought a ISC EFC puffer vest yesterday for my mum, $20.

The Bombershop has plenty of ISC gear still to get rid off.

Crap on-field performance leads to diminished returns in merchandise sales?

As much as it’s obvious, this should be a canary in the coal mine type moment for the club management.

Would seem very possible that this is years of the saga and 2 decades of rubbish performance costing us a generation of fans. And that is a massive problem for the club long term.

We really need some sort of success very very soon.

And to clarify, even if the UA deal is very good financially for the club, and that we wanted to take it up and get rid of ISC, the fact that the apparel sales are such that ISC might want to partner with StK, but not with us, really should be a massive alarm bell.
