EFC clothing discussions (2019 onwards)

Apparently we’re 14-time Premiership winners, but this Mitchell & Ness t-shirt is missing the 1924 and 1897 flags. Hard to believe neither the manufacturer nor the club picked up on the mistake.

Lol

There were no real “grand finals” until the Argus system was changed to the McIntyre system in 1931 or so.

That would explain it.

Does anybody know where I can buy the Sam Durham shirt that Essendon presented to Daniel Gorringe on their Instagram story today?

This looks very much like a hostage situation. :joy:

It’s a glorious looking kit IMO. Can’t believe we didn’t do it sooner.

Can we take a moment to acknowledge how great the clash strip looked on Saturday night? After a series of missteps, we’ve finally nailed it. Huge shout out to the club, Puma and the members for making the right—albeit obvious—choice.

Now, don’t change it!

Thats a clash Jumper we can be proud of, it looked great!
And now that we have the ultimate Clash jumper sorted, they can enhance it further, and do it justice by wearing Black Shorts with it.
The white away shorts are simply from another time, and did its differentiating and away job. But now that we have a fully compliant clash jumper, then i can see no reason why we shouldn’t be allowed to wear black shorts with it. The rules are all about the clash jumper being compliant, not the shorts. Make it happen Essendon…put the black shorts on this mighty Puma Clash Jumper, cause white is not our colour.

They should add red shorts.

Red or black (my preference) work for me.

They could wear Red, but in this particular case, i personally think it looks better differentiating the top from the bottom, instead of it looking kind of like a red jumpsuit.

White shorts should be worn when it makes sense to. On the weekend, it made perfect sense, as the Demons played in navy and red. Black shorts are close enough to navy so it would only counter the effect of the clash jumper to wear them. The obsession to play in as much of our home kit as possible is something I’ll never quite understand.

If we ever wear white shorts against Collingwood, Sydney or St Kilda, then it’s absolutely time to complain.

Completely agree with the positive sentiment. This is easily the best alternative design we’ve come up with. Simple sash, reversed colours.

How on earth have they managed to take so long to do that? It might bug us we have to do it, but if we are keep it red and black and a proper sash.

It’s actually a good colour red too, comes up well on the tv.

It’s honestly staggering that it’s taken this long to get here.

How long ago did the AFL relent on red being a “dark” colour…?
