The sash, not the logo.
Their Gather Round jumper is predominantly blue with their 90s style Dees logo. They will wear navy shorts as well, so there won’t be a colour clash.
Yep, I’m actually a big fan of our logo. It’s a cracker that’s stood the test of time. There aren’t many clubs out there with a better one IMO.
Nah, I think the sash is sacrosanct. As is ‘red and black’.
Re: the sash - why?
And I’m not saying get rid of it completely, merely suggesting that a couple of alternate kits dont need it.
Because i love it!
Is it the design or something else?
Genuinely curious
I’m a big fan of how GC has brought pink into its palette. It’s landed really well. I’m just not convinced that a similarly bold shift would suit Essendon, given its status as a traditional foundation club. It would be a hard sell.
Agree re: GC ( one of the reasons I started thinking about this ).
A third colour like a silver would complement pretty well if used correctly, but I think the sash limits what you can really do with it anyway.
No, for me it’s the uniqueness of the sash. Sporting outfits around the globe are full of stripes, hoops or plain. The sash is unique and Essendon’s outfit is both unique and striking imo.
Irrespective of it being a clash strip, I still prefer a sash. Although, I think having a play with the sash like for the ANZAC Day jumper and that old speed kills seatbelt design is ok with me.
Yeah and some of GWS alternates are really nice too
I agree. I think tweaking the sash is the only way you can attack it really.
Abd tweaking it the way they are is still respecting the tradition.
I’m one of the odd ones who doesn’t like our new clash strip…feels like we’re Coburg or some vfl/vafa team..
I’d be curious about an inverse of the Anzac Day as a future clash strip…
Multiple instances of scalping are circulating across social media, with some pretty outrageous prices being thrown around. People really love this jumper.
The website says they are sold out but I was at the bombershop on Tuesday and they had a heap of them in store to purchase. I ended up purchasing the anzac hoodie instead. As nice as the guernsey is, I’m never going to wear it.
What would’ve been good is if the club produced more of them.
Typical of the commercial team these days. Forecasting obviously poor. The initial social media response indicated an outrageous success with expected much higher demand than previous years. They probably produced the same generic forecast as last year.
Oh well, they have an opportunity to find some additional revenue and it’s squandered it seems. ![]()
A simple pre-order period would have told them all they needed to know.
