Thanks to @EssendonFC for allowing my afl dream to become a reality. Big thanks to all the fans. Going to miss all the boys.

I just went from wishing him the best for the future, to really hoping he finds another club. Classy exit

yeah, so classy his manager said during trade period that he is leaving due to the supplement saga

To be fair his manager was trying to make out that it was his clients's choice to leave.

I love Hardy's attitude. He gets up and about (especially after a goal) and really tries hard. He's good enough to make it at another club.

All the best to him.

Dalgleish will not be delisted. I'm guessing Kav will be the last one let go.

+ 1

He's contracted.

Can still be delisted, just that his contract gets counted in the salary cap for next year.

would be a bit prick ish to delist him while he has a contract, after the last few months of pretty much everyone associated with the club hanging **** on Ryder leaving cos he has a contract.

What's good for the goose. If players can seemingly break contract and get what they want, clubs should be able to as well.

I detect sarcasm, but still... There's a massive difference in paying someone out of a contract as opposed to failing to live up to your end of the bargain.

In Knight's case we paid him out (our end of the bargain) and he didn't have to fulfill his obligations.

In Paddy's case he just refused to show up to work and he wasn't penalised at all.

If you really wanna play "what's good for the goose" then we'd be able to delist a player and not pay them out the rest of their contract.

Jetta. End of an era

Thank fark...what a ■■■■ era it has been!

In a way it is an end of an era. Small forwards, the likes of Reimers and Jetta, who just couldn't seem to put two decent games together despite a shed load of opportunities. We don't seem to have to play these types or even keep them listed these days.

First Crameri and now Hardingham. Who will we us it for next?

Wow, speaking of delistings, I just saw this clip after lookat the one above...

I believe this was Lloyd's last game (where he went out with a bang), but seriously, how the hell did we make finals with guys in the team like Neagle, Atkinson (Petratko), Dyson (looking arrogant), Prismall, Lonergan, 2009 McVeigh etc, who ALL feature in this clip...I even see Slattery in there... Oh and Michael "can't play forward" Hurley.

Seriously anyone who thinks our list hasn't improved is nuts, it's heaps better, but so are our rivals...

Knights didn’t do a bad job with what he had, which wasn’t a whole lot. Getting into finals that year was a hell of an achievement, but I think we got in with the lowest number of wins of any team in the final 8 era.

Yeah, 10 wins from 22 games got us in the finals.

You know who also played but didn't feature in that clip? Adam McPhee.  Also Welsh, Lovett and Pears were all there and they played well that season.

I still think Winderlich might still be retiring as he had previously decided.

Nope.

Playing on.

Completing one of the best seasons of his career, Jason Winderlich has announced he will play on with the Essendon Football Club for season 2015.

Winderlich said he made the decision on a recent family holiday.

“I‘d had a number of really positive chats with Hirdy and Paul Little, and the boys were constantly in my ear, encouraging me to change my mind,” Winderlich said.

“Our recent family holiday gave me time to weigh everything up, and I felt I still had a real hunger and the ability to go around for another season.”

“To have Mark Harvey return as an assistant coach is exciting for me personally, and it‘s a massive boost for the playing group and the footy club in general.”

The 30 year-old also revealed sessions with a chiropractor gave him a new lease of life.

“My body is feeling the best it has in a long time. The sessions freshened me up and allowed me to play some really consistent footy last season.”

“While there‘s no guarantee, I‘m confident in my body and excited about what this season has to offer.”

Winderlich proved he will be a valuable asset again in 2015, after splitting his game time between the forward line and defence.

Senior coach James Hird said Winderlich had shown himself to be an outstanding leader of the football club.

“Jason is a very popular member of the playing group, and we all love having him around the club. He adds a particular element of class to our forward line, but he is also impressively versatile,” Hird said.

“Jason‘s history with injuries has been well documented but his body held up well this year. He played one of his best seasons to date so we‘re thrilled that he‘s reversed his decision to retire because we know he still has plenty to offer.”

In his 128 games, the 30-year-old has kicked 83 goals. Over the course of his career to date, Winderlich averaged 16 disposals, 5 marks and 3 tackles per game.

The 30 year-old also revealed sessions with a chiropractor gave him a new lease of life.

The heck? Could we not find a voodoo practitioner who'd bulk bill??

Rama says Hi.

Ambrose upgrade confirmed...

Knights didn't do a bad job with what he had, which wasn't a whole lot. Getting into finals that year was a hell of an achievement, but I think we got in with the lowest number of wins of any team in the final 8 era.

Plus he had to deal with so much injuries.

Thank fark...what a **** era it has been!

Shame, shame, shame anyone who condems any player that has Dons the sash.-especially long term palyers who have busted a gut to be the best they can be for the club and supporters. Good luck Leroy...
Every EFC player proudly plays to the best of their ability for the club.. Armchair critics on this site who have never played the game at the highest level should temper their comments. As supporters you feel you are in a position to comment but in reality most have no idea the circumstances that impact on a players performance.

You'll fit in well here. You'll find the game day threads especially satisfying.

Well said John. Agree wholeheartedly, but might find a little difficult to relate this to Paddy Ryder if what we hear about him is true. But then I don't know what to believe these days given rampant press who play havoc with the truth.
